Lost In The Clouds: Monkey Mountain | Da Nang Day 2
One of the most epic days I've experienced in a long time - we get lost in the clouds while motorcycling up Monkey Mountain just outside of Da Nang. We also visit Lady Buddha, the largest Buddha statue in Vietnam. This is day 2 of our trip, so make sure to check out the last video and upcoming episodes.

DA NANG MONKEY MOUNTAIN
DA NANG MONKEY MOUNTAIN is a part of the impressive Son Tra peninsula, centre of Viet Nam. The mountain spreads to the sea, likes a giant arm protecting the whole Da Nang Vietnam. Monkey Mountain along with Marble Mountain and Ba Na Hill are always the top attractive destination in Da Nang city.
The travelers have plenty of choice to visit Monkey Mountain. It is very convenient to book a Hoi An Monkey Mountain & Marble Mountain motorbike tour :

Things to do in Da Nang, Vietnam
1. Son Tra Mountain (aka Monkey Mountain)
Da Nang is home to Vietnams protected monkey the red-shanked douc. Stunning to see in the wild, drive slow on your way up to the top of Son Tra Mountain and on your way back... we didn't see any until the way down but now we know why it's called monkey mountain!
Incredible view point at the top of Son Tra Mountain makes the trip all the more worth it (even if you don't see any monkeys).
2. My Khe Beach, Da Nang Vietnam
One of the worlds best beaches, probably one of the longest too!
My Khe beach has it all. We enjoyed a nice walk along the front, smoothies in the sun and even had a little play in the sea too!
3. Lady Buddha
We were on our way to Son Tra Mountain and we couldn't help but notice a HUGE statue up on the hillside... we took a couple of turns and ended up at the Lady Buddha. Not just a statue, there's plenty to see here with stunning gardens and miniature statues all around. We spent a good hour or so at the Lady Buddha location, highly recommend visiting this place when in Da Nang, Vietnam!
4. Hire A Scooter And Go Explore Da Nang!
If you are staying in Da Nang, hire a scooter and head towards the My Khe Beach and Son Tra Mountain which is not too far from the beach.
It's a straight road from the beach to monkey mountain, with the lady buddha on route. Enjoy the drive!!
Next stop for us is Hoi An, only 45 minutes down the road from Da Nang which is a bonus... no 6 hour trains / buses required here!!

Exploring Monkey Mountain in Da Nang in Vietnam! (Son Tra Mountains) 2019
Watch us explore a cozy little beach city called Da Nang in Vietnam. We take a scooter tour up to Son Tra Mountains, Monkey Mountain to see the viewpoint and search for rare monkeys called Red-Shanked Douc.
- We recommend taking a tour by @freedomfreeman (no ad) who provides scooters and by preference private driver.
- You CAN take a taxi ride up to the mountain, but it will not take you on the smaller roads where you can see more monkeys. Monkeys are usually seen from. 3:00-5:00pm.
- Beware of restaurants that do no give you the menu. We stumbled upon this situation a few times..where the restaurant staff did not give the menu in hopes you will purchase expensive seafood.
- Use the grab app. for all your taxi needs. It's more affordable this way.
Awesome Monkey Mountain Motorbike Ride - Da Nang Vietnam
In part two of the spontaneous trip to central Vietnam, the boys are out exploring around Da Nang - motorcycling up Son Tra mountain aka Monkey Mountain, and also visiting lady Buddha - the largest Buddha statue in Vietnam. To sum up Mike's week in Vietnam, we went out for some happy hour in one of Saigon's rooftop bars.

About me:
Hi my name is Lana,
I come from the north of New Zealand.
I made the decision to quit my job as a nurse and go travelling. I enjoy slow travel and spending more time in each city to get a feel for the culture and how the locals truly live. Travelling can be hard when you don't have the information you need, especially as a tourist, the prices of things are usually heightened. My vlogs will show you how you too can travel cheaply, less touristy and how to travel full time.
My aim is to show you the realness of travelling, and to give you the information that you need as a traveller.
So I hope you can follow me on my journey to see this lovely world of ours!
