Beopjusa Temple, Boeun, South Korea 법주사
One of the biggest holiday of the year in Korea is Buddha's Birthday, celebrated by millions of people. My second of five videos to celebrate this wonderful holiday is at Beopju Temple. I chose this temple to visit because it has one of the most beautiful and tallest standing Buddha figure in Korea. I would recommend anyone who is around Songnisan National Park, South Korea to visit this temple. Bruce Lee - Game of Death, Original location
Beopju temple was chosen by Bruce Lee as the original setting for the movie Game of Death, with the five floors of Palsangjeon pagoda representing five different martial arts. Since Bruce Lee died before the movie was completed, the screenplay was changed, and Beopjusa was edited out.
부모님과 함께 보은군을 여행하면서 짧은 영상을 만들어 봤습니다.
I spent the day in Boeun-gun, South Korea this summer, and I made this short travel film about beautiful country. My parents acted directly in the film. Beopjusa Temple [UNESCO World Heritage] is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. In the first scene, 600-year-old pine tree.
This old tree, designated as Natural Monument No. 103, is 15 meters in height and 4.5 meters in girth. Its branches stretch 10.3 meters to the east, 9.6 meters to the west and 10 meters to the north.

Beopjusa Temple, South Korea
This is a video of my trip to South Korea I did in August 2012. Beopjusa (법주사) is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It is situated on the slopes of Songnisan in Naesongni-myeon, Boeun County, in the province of Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. It was initially constructed in 653 by Silla monk Uisin. It has been historically associated with Beopsang thought and the worship of the Maitreya Buddha.

Boeun Beopjusa Temple (보은 법주사)
Built in the 14th year of Silla King Jin-Heung's reign, Beopjusa Temple is located on Songnisan Mountain. What stands today are the remnants of rebuilt monuments through left over from the lengthy and arduous process. When you enter the temple, the yellow earthen road will catch your eye. The earth was ground into small stone shapes, burned, and then scattered over the road. The road itself leads to the Orisup Trail, and there will be a nature study trail beside it. Pass the Orisup trail, through thick pine trees, and you will come across the main gate of the temple. There is a large rock with a hole in the middle beside the main gate. You can drink spring water that comes out of the hole. Inside the temple you can see Palsangjeon, Pavilion which is a wooden building shaped like a tower. Then you can visit the Seokryeonji Lotus Flower Pond. As the name suggests, the pond is made of stones. At the back of Palsangjeon Pavilion, there is the Ssangsajaseokdeung (Two Lion Stone Lamp), and, again as the name suggests, the two lions uphold the stone lamp. The main building is also fascinating. It is two-stories high, and very stately. In addition, Beopjusa Temple has Ma-aeyeorae-uisang carved into a rock. Uisang refers to a sitting Buddha, and this particular Ma-aeyeorae shows Buddha sitting on a lotus flower. Passage of time has done much damage, but the original shapes are still well preserved.
Beopjusa Temple represents Songnisan Mountain, containing within it 1,500 years of history and a matching list of numerous National Treasures and Monuments. Here you can experience the Buddhist culture reflected in these artifacts.

Beopjusa, located in the skirts of Soknisan (Mt.), is filled with important cultural heritages such as national treasures, treasures and designated cultural properties.
However, the must-see of Beopjusa is Palsangjeon.
Typically, the Palsangjeon is a shrine for the Palsangdo, which is a Buddhist painting, but unlike other temples, Beobjusa Palsangjeon has its own unique feature.
We will take a visit to Beopjusa Palsangjeon, the nation's only wooden pagoda that still maintains the solemn grace amidst a time long history.
Rural-20: Gubyeongareum Village
Gubyeongareum Village is located between Gubyeongsan and Sognisan mountain, known as the Alps of Chungbuk Province. Take a peek into the secret of the happiness and longevity here. This is a village where you can enjoy fresh air and clean water all year round. This place is known to many as the Villaege of Longevity and for its traditional drinks. Tourists can make their own liquor called Songnoju with pine leaves. Sweet and sour taste of songroju is indescribable.
If you are curious about traditional Korean agricultural towns, try becoming a farmer for one day here. Feel the joy of harvesting by picking jujube, specialty of Boeun. Your happiness will double when you hand-pick the sweet apples known for their sweetness.
Also, you can taste agricultural products known for its best quality here. There is an old house called Sun Byeong-guk House, built in the early 1900s. Every last pot, tile and wooden porch is preserved in its original form, exuding antique and cozy atmosphere. It will be a memorable experience to drink tea here at this antique house. Songisan Mountain in Boen is famous for its beauty all year round. It is also one of the 8 great views in Korea, visited by many tourists.
This is Beopjusa Temple, located in Songnisan National Park. The first light of this temple was lit during the Silla Dynasty. You will be amazed by all the national treasures with a long history. Chimes of the temple bells ringing throughout the mountain will humble your heart. Immerse yourself in the splendid nature in Gubyeongareum Village, Boeun and enjoy the hospitality of villagers.
