Soomaa National Park, Estonia - Bog Walking Tour and Night Safari!
Virtual Tour here:
Exploring the biggest bog of Estonia with bog shoes in Soomaa National Park by day and by night!
We first go through the pine tree forest that surrounds the bog, until we really find ouselves walking on the wetland. On the bog, the pine trees get dwarf. Nice surprised await us such as nice ponds and a plane crash site.
After enjoying the view from an observation tower, we leave the bog to get to the river, another great part of Soomaa National Park apart from its famous bog.
We closed the loop and got back to the starting point by canoe.
As evening comes, it's time for the night safari! The animals that everyone wants to see in Soomaa National Park are beavers, but they are not always easy to spot. Watch the video and find out what we could see! There was a beautiful surprise.
The canoeing night tour ends as it is getting really dark. A really beautiful experience and a big highlight of our trip in the Baltic States.

5th Season in Soomaa National Park, Estonia
Each spring or whenever there's a lot of water around Soomaa National Park in Estonia turns into a giant paddling playground. It's the time when you can take your kayak outside of the bounds of the river and explore the plains or even forests. They call it the 5th season.

Best places to visit in Estonia 2019 - Soomaa National Park
The Soomaa National Park is a wetland area in the Pärnu and Viljandi County. Visitors might know Soomaa best for its great flood or the so-called fifth season when the water from melted snow or heavy rains floods all the lower forests, roads and even yards.
Autumn day in Soomaa National Park, Estonia
In this drone video by Blizzardfoto, you'll get a beautiful look at the wetlands for which Estonia is so well known. Soomaa National Park is located in the southwestern quadrant of the Baltic country, a bit east of the Gulf of Riga and north of the border with Lithuania. The park was created in 1993 (shortly after Estonia became independent of Russia) as a means to protect the country's once-extensive wetland areas which had shrunk dramatically over the course of the 20th century.
