Soswaewon Garden is a private garden from the Joseon Period where the beauty of traditional Korea is preserved. It was built by Yang San-Bo (1503-1557) after he gave up his success when his mentor Jo Gwang-Jo (1482-1519) was killed during a political strife. Soswaewon Garden presents itself as a clean and transparent garden where the righteous enjoy the life of anbinnakdo (being comfortable amid poverty and taking pleasure in and honest life style) surrounded by a bamboo grove.
Including peach trees, various kinds of trees and grass are planted on both sides of the stream while clear water flows down the foot of the garden walls. The log bridge above the valley adds to the charm of the scenery. The harmony between nature and the artificial waterfall is a sight to behold. Soswaewon Garden is 150m away from the main road. Passing through the thick bamboo forest, you will find the small valley and Soswaewon Garden on your left.

This is a video of my trip to South Korea I did in August 2012. Damyang County (Damyang-gun) is an county in Jeollanam-do. Bamboo goods and strawberries are well-known local products of this highly touristic area. Damyang (담양) is one of the northernmost places where bamboo can be found on the Korean peninsula, and its bamboo forests are well-known among Koreans. Many touristic attractions have been created to leverage on that reputation: a Bamboo Park (Daenamugol, you can see in this video), a Bamboo Museum and a Bamboo Festival.
Chowonjip - Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea.
Chowonjip, which means Meadow House, is the private residence of Yi Jae-uk in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. Over the decades he has erected many structures made of pond stones, all constructed by hand.
All over the entire property can be found grottoes, statues, ponds, gardens, rooms and resting areas. Although a private residence, the couple opens the property up to interested visitors. The entire place has a relaxing and enchanted atmosphere.

Daenamugol Bamboo Park in Damyang is only one of a number of bamboo parks, gardens and foests in the Jeollanam-do province of South Korea. It has been used for a number of movie sets. Background music is Pachabelly by Huma Huma.

If you follow National Road No. 15 up from the Bamboo Museum, you'll come across a beautiful and exotic boulevard that looks like it is came straight out of a fairytale. This unearthly place is the Metasequoia-lined Road.
Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s when the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially designated the road as a boulevard. At that time, the saplings were only 3 to 4 years old and their branches stretched sparsely out into the sky; now, the trees have grown so high that they seem to block out the sun! Thanks to these stately trees, in 2002 the Korea Forest Service selected the boulevard as one of the most beautiful roads in Korea.
The 4 kilometer-long boulevard is located along National Road No. 24 and is one of the most popular driving routes in Korea, especially during summer when the trees' lush green leaves are at their height of beauty. Feel free to stop your car along the roadside to take a walk among these 10 to 20-meter-tall trees and breathe their fresh scent. Bicycling along this route and appreciating its real beauty at a leisurely pace is also highly recommended.

Built in the 14th year of Silla King Jin-Heung's reign, Beopjusa Temple is located on Mt. Songnisan. What stands today are the remnants of rebuilt monuments through left over from the lengthy and arduous process. When you enter the temple, the yellow earthen road will catch your eye. The earth was ground into small stone shapes, burned, and then scattered over the road. The road itself leads to the Orisup Trail, and there will be a nature study trail beside it. Pass the Orisup trail, through thick pine trees, and you will come across the main gate of the temple. There is a large rock with a hole in the middle beside the main gate. You can drink spring water that comes out of the hole. Inside the temple you can see Palsangjeon, Pavilion which is a wooden building shaped like a tower. Then you can visit the Seokryeonji Lotus Flower Pond. As the name suggests, the pond is made of stones. At the back of Palsangjeon Pavilion, there is the Ssangsajaseokdeung (Two Lion Stone Lamp), and, again as the name suggests, the two lions uphold the stone lamp. The main building is also fascinating. It is two-stories high, and very stately. In addition, Beopjusa Temple has Ma-aeyeorae-uisang carved into a rock. Uisang refers to a sitting Buddha, and this particular Ma-aeyeorae shows Buddha sitting on a lotus flower. Passage of time has done much damage, but the original shapes are still well preserved.
Beopjusa Temple represents Mt. Songnisan, containing within it 1,500 years of history and a matching list of numerous National Treasures and Monuments. Here you can experience the Buddhist culture reflected in these artifacts.

Harmonizing with the natural and artificial soswaewon-building country in the middle of a typical garden gentleman section of the aloof nature and the beauty is filled.
Yangsanbo (梁 山甫, 1503 ~ 1557), as a teacher, raised jogwangjo became an exile and death ,abandon means to succeed here lived with nature.
It's a security issue as soswaewon production (号) is derived from soswaeong, and contains that meaning is clear and clean.
In soswaewon Yeongjo 31 years (AD 1755), at the time of the appearance of wood carved into the remains soswaewon circle can be estimated.
