The This Morning star and her husband Eamonn Holmes told viewers that Julia had died aged 62 after a ‘long illness’ in June. An inquest today in Woking, Surrey, heard that Julia died by suicide by hanging. Johnson, a landscape gardener, was found in the garage of her home in Lingfield, Surrey, where she lived with her husband Paul. Johnson had suffered with depression for years but on her last visit to a psychiatrist, it was decided that she was improving greatly and had ‘settled’, with her appointments being dropped to one every six months. Paul Johnson, Julia’s husband, discovered Julia’s body after he became concerned about his wife while visiting their daughter Katie. Mr Johnson had attempted to contact Julia multiple times before he arrived back in Lingfield before midnight on 15 June, with assistant coroner for Surrey Anna Crawford saying: ‘He found his wife hanging in the garage.’ Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service declared Julia dead two minutes arriving at the property. Ms Johnson did not leave a suicide note, the inquest heard. Ms Crawford said: ‘On June 15 2019 Mr Johnson had gone away for the weekend to visit their daughter, while she remained at home. When he left on Friday June 14 she had appeared quite settled over proceeding weeks. ‘He tried to contact her in the evening by telephone and then on the Saturday but he failed to get a response.’ Explaining Mr Johnson rushed home due to his concern, Ms Crawford continued: ‘He found his wife hanging in his garage by a rope. He called paramedics who attended and confirmed her death. Police also attended and he identified his wife to them.’ It was noted that although Julia had been prescribed 30mg of metazapine daily by her GP, there was no trace of the drug in her system, with Ms Crawford saying: ‘It is more likely than not that she was not taking it but it is unknown the effect of that on her mind.’ The coroner offered Julia’s family her condolences and said: ‘I accept the medical cause of death as hanging. She was diagnosed with recurrent depressive disorder and on June 16 2019 she was found deceased using a piece of rope as a ligature. ‘I find Mrs Johnson deliberately hanged herself. She was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I find she acted deliberately to take her own life.’ Ruth and Eamonn did not attend the inquest. Julia had previously spoken about living with depression, telling the Express in 2010: ‘In adult life I have suffered from depression, especially when I hit my fifties. I’m learning to deal with it now, but Ruth has been really supportive. ‘I’d phone her in tears and go and stay with her. She e

Mahatma Gandhi - dying for freedom | DW Documentary
Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30 January 1948. Why was Gandhi killed and what events occurred before and after Gandhis murder?
This documentary shows how India was dogged by nationalism and religious conflict on its path to independence - and how these factors mark the country to this day. On 20 January 1948, Gopal Godse, a Hindu fanatic, attempted to assassinate Mahatma Gandhi. Ten days later, his brother Nathuram Godse managed to finish the job: he killed Gandhi. For Gopal Godse, India's Independence Day in August 1947 was a day of mourning. Bharat Mata, Mother India, which the young Brahmin zealously worshipped, had lost many of its provinces. Predominantly Muslim East Bengal had become East Pakistan, whilst western Punjab, the provinces of Sindh and Baluchistan and the land of the warlike Pashtuns made up West Pakistan a thousand miles away. This too was predominantly Muslim. Godse didn’t just see the former colonial power, Great Britain, as responsible for the amputation, he also believed the Muslims were to blame. But, in Godse’s eyes, the main culprit was a Hindu who was celebrated as a hero because he had defied the English, a small man with round wire glasses and a white cotton robe: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma, the great soul. The Godse brothers did not care that Gandhi had always condemned conflict between the various religious communities and opposed the partition of India. They were members of the far-right Hindu Mahasabha, the Great Assembly of Hindus, which had close links with the anti-British and fascist National Volunteer Corps. And now extremist Hindus are gaining ground in India again...

Lyrics:
Verse
Who are you, what you really do,
When you have to fight the agony,
That’s aiming back at you.
Who are you,
Who you run to,
Depend, defend, hope on,
Can you function on your own?
Are you from those,
Who will swallow down
The pain, disgrace
The sadness (yeah)
When the one
You love so much
Can take your soul
And break it. (no)
PreChorus
Wait for, oh wait for,
What I waited for?
Wait for oh wait for,
On no I’m done.
Chorus
Walking out (uhuuu)
Whatever I’ve built
I’m gonna burn down,
I’m walking out (uhuuu)
You’re no more a king
‘cuz I was your crown.
Verse
First you said, you would die for me,
But in the end I was the one
Bleeding all alone.
First you said,
You kneeled, you swore,
You loved, you lived for me
How could you forget it all?
Are you from those,
Who can take a loving heart
And squeeze it out of love?
Than prepare to slowly get
Not loved but hated instead.
Chorus
Walking out (uhuuu)
Whatever I’ve built
I’m gonna burn down,
I’m walking out (uhuuu)
You’re no more a king
‘cuz I was your crown.
Walking out, walking out
No crying now,
Walking out walking out
No begging,
Walking out (uhuu)
At last, I feel proud
I’m walking out.
Bridge
You knew that my heart wasn’t small,
But somehow you came and filled it all.

Lee Dorsey - Working In The Coal Mine (1966)
Please like:
on Facebook.
Canaries were once regularly used in coal mining as an early warning system. Toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and methane in the mine would kill the bird before affecting the miners. Because canaries tend to sing much of the time, they provided both a visual and audible cue in this respect. The use of so called miner's canaries in British mines was phased out in 1987. Hence, the phrase canary in a coal mine is frequently used to refer to a person or thing which serves as an early warning of a coming crisis. By analogy, the term climate canary is used to refer to a species that is affected by an environmental danger prior to other species, thus serving as an early warning system for the other species with regard to the danger.
