The Archeological Museum in Sousse is well worth a visit, mainly to see the beautiful ancient mosaics that were found in this area.
Sousse Archaeological Museum
The museum is housed in the Kasbah of Sousse's Medina, which was founded in the 11th century AD... It contains the second largest collection of mosaics in the world after that of the Bardo National Museum in the capital Tunis.

Visite du plus beau musée de Sousse
J'ai visité ce beau musée archéologique qui présente plein de mosaïque a coté de la médina de Sousse. Si vous êtes en vacance à Sousse, il faut découvrir les mosaïques et les statuettes. Je vous signale aussi que l’ont ne respecte pas toujours les horaires d'ouverture. Certains jours sont annoncés ouverts, alors qu'ils sont fermés dans la réalité.

La médina de Sousse, inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial, accueille, à l’intérieur de sa Kasbah médiévale, le nouveau Musée Archéologique de Sousse.
A l’entrée du Musée, dans la grande salle voutée de l’accueil, sont présentés l’histoire et les monuments du Sahel de l’antiquité à l’époque musulmane.
Situées sous la grande cour de la Kasbah, les salles souterraines du Musée atteignent 2000m de superficie et baignent dans une lumière, artificielle et naturelle, qui contribue à la mise en scène des collections et des ambiances scénographiques des différents espaces. Les collections, composées de mosaïques, de sculptures, de lapidaires et de mobiliers en céramique proviennent de plusieurs sites du Sahel antique

أطلق الفينيقيون على مدينة سوسة اسم حضرموت ويلقبها التونسيون الآن جوهرة الساحل، وما بين الاسمين قرون كثيرة راكمت المدينة على مداها تراثا ثريا تحفل به المدينة العتيقة، والسور الروماني المطوق لها، والذي ناف عمره على أكثر من ألفي سنة ظل فيها شاهدا على توالي الحقب وتداول الأيام بين الناس.
في المدينة العتيقة -التي تمتد على نحو ثلاثة كيلومترات- يقف الزائر على ما تختزنه ذاكرة سوسة من أبنية تراثية وأسواق شعبية، وشواهد تاريخية تجسدها جداريات ومقتنيات أروقة متحف سوسة الأثري.
