Weekend Walk 17 - Amberley to Steyning (South Downs Way)
The ninth stage of my South Downs Way adventure, picking it up after a break over summer. Up to the downs from Amberley, the half way point, with amazing views to the north and south, to Chanctonbury Ring and the town of Steyning.

Alfriston to Eastbourne - South Downs Way - Weekend Walk 41
For the final stage of the 100-mile SDW, I took the Coastal Route from the downland village of Alfriston, through the Cuckmere valley, across the Seven Sisters Country park with its bright white cliffs, via Birling Gap, up to Beachy Head before leaving the downs, descending into Eastbourne and it's seafront promenade. A thoroughly enjoyable last twelve miles - a classic!
Walking in England - THE DOWNS LINK - West Sussex
Join us as we walk from Copsale to West Grinstead on the Downs Link! Geocaching, discovering train history and a backing track that sounds a little like the theme tune from Crossroads way back in the 1970s/80s!
The Downs Link is a 37 mile footpath and bridleway linking the North Downs Way at St. Martha's Hill in Surrey with the South Downs Way near Steyning in West Sussex and on via the Coastal Link to Shoreham-by-Sea.

South Downs Way part 1 of 2
October 2011: 100 mile walk along the South Downs Way in Southern England.
Southdowns MTB Loop - Absolutely Stunning
The Southdowns runs for absolutely miles. I've been putting it off for so long now. I'll be truthful, I didn't think I'd enjoy it. How wrong could I be. Meeting with my usual group of top riders for our weekly ride, we headed out for a 20 ish mile loop.
The weather was literally perfect. Hot, but a nice breeze that after 15 miles was needed. The Southdowns have amazing views. It actually made a change to take it all in for once rather than blasting down the trails and not noticing much.
Andy was the tour guide for the loop and did a really good job of taking us around the better sections for this loop.
It's opened up a new avenue of riding for me. You couldn't do this on anything other than a mountain bike, and have the ability to just go where ever the pedals take you in pretty amazing for sure.
The Southdowns extends for absolutely miles and miles. The limit to any journey is time and fitness. You'll get some great fast paced descents, but shortly followed by some big up hill elements. It's like this for most loops of the Southdowns area.
Regardless to say, it was an amazing ride with great company and I felt it the next day..

South Downs MTB | Beautiful Spring Ride
Mountain biking on a beautiful spring day in Sussex and the weather is unusually warm and sunny. I go off into the South Downs via Stanmer Park trying to do as many miles/kilometres as possible.
Turns out to hottest day of the year so far and I get to explore around the Downs in bright sunshine. I do have a couple of 'moments', one that is completely my fault as I’m not looking where I’m going and it could have ended badly.
