South Inlet Park Snorkeling | Boca Raton South Inlet Park
South Inlet Park Snorkeling | Boca Raton South Inlet Park
The South Inlet Park reefs are both natural (west & north) and artificial (east). Located on the south side of the Boca Raton Inlet, these reefs are in about 12 feet of water. You can spend a lot of time snorkeling here as the reefs are close, but spread out.
The natural reef starts about 175 feet offshore and runs from the jetty to beyond South Inlet Park. The natural reef is covered in sand, but has sea grass growing on it. Many non-fish marine creatures can be found here. The artificial reef, 250 feet off shore, runs from the main walkway of South Inlet Park to the south side of the building south of the park. Pay attention to the current to determine the best entry point.
Do not swim around the jetty!
Like most of South Florida, you MUST use a dive flag when scuba diving and snorkeling at South Inlet Park.

Hunt for the New Inlet Beach Reef
We went on a mission to find the new Inlet Beach, Florida reef and succeeded! The new Inlet Beach, Florida Reef is located on the backend of the second sandbar. It's built in the shape of a cobia fish. Inlet Beach is located on the far eastern end of South Walton County. Rosemary Beach is its neighbor to the west.

Snorkeling with Turtles | Deerfield Beach / Boca Raton Florida
Video was shot with the SooCoo S70:
This video was shot on the county line between Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton, Florida. If you're familiar with the area, this is between Turle reef and the North Deerfield Beach Ledges. While both reefs are now covered in sand, there's a large seagrass bed 300 feet off shore where the turtles like to eat.
The day was perfect. The sun was out and we saw atleast 15 turtles!
This dive site is less than a 5-minute walk north of the pier, in front of the green hut. If you're ready to see turtles, this is an easy snorkeling outing in Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton.

Boca Raton Florida Beach with Uncle Charles
South Florida certainly has a lot of beaches many of which are quite nice. But most of them are very metropolitan with hotels, businesses and other man made structures looming close by. Of all the beaches in South Florida Boca Raton has the only one which is kept pristine as a sort of nature preserve. While on Boca Beach you can actually forget you are in the third largest population center in the United States.
That said, we headed over there in the dead of Winter (January) and, of course, found it warm enough to get busy in the ocean!! Ethan hd a ball with his Uncle Charles in the waves, splashing and frolicking around. A nifty wind surfer zoomed by and the clear water was quite pleasant!
An overall enjoyable day and if anyone is planning on heading to South Florida I suggest a Boca Beach visit to be sure!

Red Reef Park snorkel adventure Boca Raton FL
5/6/2016
This was a fun day playing around the submerged rocks at Red Reef Park. Lots of fish, including some huge sheepshead, some slot and under slot size snook, a few nurse sharks, a giant 5ft barracuda, as well as a 60lb tarpon, and various reef fish, including some gray and mangrove snapper I want to go back to pole spear and eat!
Filmed with GoPro Hero 3+ silver at 1080w 60fps
I do not own the music, but The Movement is my favorite reggae band, and have bought every one of their albums, because I believe in supporting artists. This is the title track from their newest album, Golden. Go check out The Movement if you're into reggae, they are some awesome Philly boys killing it!
Make sure to watch in HD!!
