My parents flew in to Guangzhou, China to come eat the best Cantonese Chinese food and to meet Ting's family. So we decided to take them for only the BEST Chinese Food in Guangdong! We're going full on, eating the BEST Dim Sum, Home cooked Chinese Food, and Roast Goose!
To start our food and travel adventure, and in true Food Ranger style, we're going first for the BEST dim sum in Guangzhou! We brought my entire family to the White Swan restaurant, and ordered some true Cantonese food dim sum classics. We ordered shrimp and truffle shaomai dumplings, huge PLUMP hagao shrimp dumplings, black bean sauce chicken feet, and more. It was honestly the best dim sum I've ever eaten! A little expensive for this Chinese food, but so WORTH IT!
After that, we went to Guangzhou's largest seafood market to search for some delicious Chinese seafood to buy and bring back home to cook some delicious Chinese recipes with. There were massive lobsters and alaskan king crabs and more! We decided to purchase some hairy mitten crabs and steam them! Ting's mom cooked up a delicious cantonese lunch, using her home style Chinese recipes. Very delicious!
And to finish the day, we went Foodrangin' and went on a GOOSE JOURNEY to eat the BEST cantonese roast goose in the world! Master Chef Liu, owner and head chef at Datouhua restaurant in Shunde, China, has perfected and mastered the craft of making roast goose! He served us the juiciest and most plump roast goose ever and accompanied it with some BBQ pork and goose liver! It was insanely juicy and delicious!
The goose journey was worth coming to China alone for, and my parents loved it! It was the best day of Foodrangin' ever!

The addresses for these locations are listed below. Chinese/Asian food recipes are going to be included in my blog shortly.
1) Local street food Chang Fen (rice noodle roll) - These are found throughout the city and are famously eaten during breakfast time in Guangdong, or during yumcha dimsum. I went to a very cheap Chinese restaurant specializing in Changfen in Baiyun district:
Name: 潮汕辉记肠粉
Address: 广州市白云区岗贝路4号
2) The best and must try chashaobao AKA charsui bao AKA BBQ pork bun. These beauties are like upgraded baozi steam buns you find all over the streets of China. The pork juicy and covered in a sweet Barbeque sauce and the bun is so fluffy, you won't be able to get enough of them!
Name: 天天包点
Address: 广州市越秀区起义路72号
3) Famous Chinese street food Chashao BBQ pork and Shao'e roast goose. These are the best and two must try street foods in China, especially during lunch hour in Guangzhou or Hong Kong
Name: 九爷鸡
Address: 广州市越秀区文明路103号
4) Dim sum at the famous yumcha dim sum restaurant Dim Dou Dak. This is a chain restaurant that serves some of the best cantonese dim sum in the city. Be sure to order the shao mai dumplings, har gao dumplings, fengzhua chicken feet, and their specialty red rice roll. So good!
Name: 点都德
Address: 广州市越秀区越秀中路60号宝贝城4楼
5) The largest wholesale seafood market in Guangzhou. There is a huge selection of seafood here, you could spend a whole day here just watching and discovering all the different types of fresh seafood. It's not cheap unfortunately, it's quite expensive! Be ready to bargain a little bit.
Name: 盛港湾酒楼
Address: 广州市海珠区黄沙海产批发市场

When you think of Seafood, you don't think of Szechuan. But here in Chengdu, Sichuan, seafood is flown in from all over China and Asia to be cooked by master chefs who know how to cook the best Sichuan cuisine! In today's street food tour, we're bringing you to 2 different Sichuan locations for the best seafood in the world.
First, we're going to the local seafood market in downtown Chengdu to buy some super fresh seafood. We bought a nice plump lobster weighing 1 kg and some big Dungeness crabs as well.
The real magic is that even though Chengdu is far away from the ocean, the seafood is flown in alive so it's still super fresh and can be prepared Sichuan style. You can purchase fresh seafood from the seafood market and walk right across the street to one of the street food restaurants and bring them the seafood to cook any number of different local Sichuan recipes. Since this is a SZECHUAN SEAFOOD TOUR, we ordered Sichuan style for all the seafood, which was loaded up with tons of chilies, spicy broadbean paste, onions, and potatoes. We also ordered some hairy mitten crabs cooked in Sichuan style as well. It was all super delicious!
After that super amazing Sichuan seafood feast, the next day we went to a HUGE SEAFOOD TOWER in Chengdu. It was amazing to get into the kitchen and watch as the chefs cooked up their local Spicy Sichuan stir fry dishes and put them into the cauldron, 4 layers high. The bottom layer was spicy Sichuan frog. Then there was a layer of Spicy beef, Spicy Szechuan Chicken, and spicy Sichuan shrimp!
Here are the locations for the spicy Chinese street food restaurants in Chengdu:

Shanghai (Chinese: 上海, Mandarin pronunciation: [ʂâŋ.xài] (About this soundlisten), Wu pronunciation: [zɑ̃.hɛ] (About this soundlisten)) is one of the four municipalities under the direct administration of the central government of the People's Republic of China, the largest city in China by population, and the second most populous city proper in the world, with a population of 24.18 million as of 2017.[13][14] It is a global financial centre[15] and transport hub, with the world's busiest container port.[16] Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it sits on the south edge of the estuary of the Yangtze in the middle portion of the East China coast. The municipality borders the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the north, south and west, and is bounded to the east by the East China Sea.[17]
As a major administrative, shipping and trading city, Shanghai grew in importance in the 19th century due to trade and recognition of its favourable port location and economic potential. The city was one of five treaty ports forced open to foreign trade following the British victory over China in the First Opium War. The subsequent 1842 Treaty of Nanking and 1844 Treaty of Whampoa allowed the establishment of the Shanghai International Settlement and the French Concession. The city then flourished as a centre of commerce between China and other parts of the world (predominantly the Occident), and became the primary financial hub of the Asia-Pacific region in the 1930s.[18] However, with the Communist Party takeover of the mainland in 1949, trade was limited to other socialist countries, and the city's global influence declined. In the 1990s, the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping resulted in an intense re-development of the city, aiding the return of finance and foreign investment to the city. It has since re-emerged as a hub for international trade and finance; it is the home of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, one of the world's largest by market capitalization.[19]
Shanghai has been described as the showpiece of the booming economy of mainland China;[20][21] renowned for its Lujiazui skyline, and museums and historic buildings, such as those along The Bund, as well as the City God Temple and the Yu Garden.
