Art Basel Miami
Known as Miami's premier anchor fair, Art Miami kicks off the opening day of Art Week — the first week of December when thousands of collectors, dealers, curators and artists descend upon Miami. World-famous for its stylish gallery-like decor, its outstanding quality and extraordinary variety, Art Miami showcases the best in modern and contemporary art from 125 international art galleries.
Art Basel Miami maintains a preeminent position in America's contemporary art fair market. With a rich history, it is the original and longest-running contemporary art fair in Miami and continues to receive praise for the variety of unparalleled art that it offers. It is the can't miss event for all serious collectors, curators, museum directors and interior designers, providing an intimate look at some of the most important work at the forefront of the international contemporary art movement.
The fair will commence on December 2, 2014, with Art Miami's highly anticipated Opening Night VIP Preview. In 2013 Art Miami attracted 13,600 collectors, curators, artists, connoisseurs and designers during its Opening Night to benefit the Miami Art Museum (PAMM) and hosted 75,000 attendees over a six-day period.
Art Miami LLC will reposition the dates and location of Art Southampton in 2015. The fair is repositioning its location to the world-renowned pastoral grounds of Nova' s Ark Project in Bridgehampton and will shift the dates to July 9th-13th, 2015, making it the first fair of the 2015 Hamptons summer season. The fair will open Thursday, July 9th with an elegant VIP Private Preview allowing prominent collectors, curators and advisers the first look at the finest works of investment quality contemporary and modern art.
Nick Korniloff, Partner + Director of Art Miami LLC, parent company of Art Southampton said of the planned move, We have fulfilled our mission of bringing a world-class art fair to the world class community of Southampton over the last three years and now are realigning our dates and location for our patrons convenience. This move to a more central location in Bridgehampton will allow easier access for all of our collectors on the East End. Furthermore, the extraordinary sculpture ground that the late Nova Mihai Popa and his life partners Tundra Wolf and Luna Shanaman created is the perfect setting for our fair.
We are delighted to welcome Art Southampton to Nova' s Ark Project in 2015. The combination of this sophisticated art event, set amongst the towering sculptures of founder-artist Nova is an exciting match - a wonderful combination of art and natural beauty Said Nova' s Ark co-founder Tundra Wolf.
Hollis Taggart Galleries
For 35 years, Hollis Taggart Galleries has specialized in American Fine Art of the 19th and 20th centuries. The gallery’s 19th-century expertise includes Hudson River School painting, Luminism, and American Impressionism. In 20th-century art, movements including the Ashcan group, Stieglitz Circle Modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism are represented by the gallery.
The gallery is located in the Upper East Side’s Museum Mile, just across the street from the Whitney Museum of American Art. In this ideal setting, the gallery is poised to continue its mission of presenting numerous museum-quality exhibitions, which have significantly contributed to the study of American Art. Curated by the gallery’s directors with foremost scholars in the field, Hollis Taggart Galleries has organized critically acclaimed exhibitions. We have been pleased to collaborate with over 30 museums and institutions that have loaned works to these shows. Substantial scholarly catalogues accompany each exhibition; these publications are important sources of information and new research.
Hollis Taggart Galleries is sponsoring two catalogues raisonnés. Nearing completion, the Pennsylvania Impressionist Daniel Garber’s two-volume catalogue raisonné includes over 1,500 entries. In the year 2000, the gallery launched the Frederick Frieseke catalogue, which is currently being compiled by the artist’s grandson.
In addition to providing the public with informative exhibitions, the gallery advises private collectors, corporations, and museums on acquisitions. The gallery also consults with clients to assist them in the development of their personal collections.
Hollis Taggart Galleries welcomes all inquiries from collectors who may wish to sell or consign works of art or estates. The gallery can provide appraisal services as well.
