Overlanding The Georgia Traverse w/Taco Overland! | Day 1
I got a chance to meet up with some fellow 4Runner Enthusiest and Taco Connoisseur's, more like Extraordinaire's, from the USA on Dirt Facebook Group. We ran a large portion of the 400 mile trail called the Georgia Traverse. The Georgia Traverse is a comprised of mostly dirt roads and forest roads running through the Appalachian Mountains in Northern Georgia. These guys may be new to overlanding but I feel confident in their ability to cook Tacos and ultimately that's whats important because with Tacos, all things are possible!!! The cold weather made for some bundled up car camping. Its always a good time to join like minded folks around the camp fire after a day of 4 wheeling and overland adventure.

Overland Expo East Trip Ep. 07 - Georgia Camping
We left Overland Expo to sleep in the cab of the Jeep at a Wal-Mart parking lot in Arden, NC. We spent the day in Arden waiting for our AirBNB to be available. We occupied our time with laundry and catching up on some work.
You’ll catch a glimpse of our AirBNB retreat in the video. We didn’t have much exploring for the three days spent there. We stayed out of the rain and caught up on work projects.
We left our retreat with our destination toward Blairsville, GA. We arrived in Blairsville in time for an appointment we needed to keep via video call. We popped into the local library to make use of their Wi-Fi and get out the cold and wet.
Then we headed to the woods. We found our campsite in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It was the coldest night we had stayed in the tent so far…10F! Thank goodness we had packed some hand warmers.
We enjoyed our secluded campsite and the forest road exploring despite how cold it got that night.

The Georgia Traverse - NorthEast Georgia Offroad & 3rd Gen Tacoma
I put together a video of my adventure I did couple weeks ago in Georgia! I went on the Traverse with some new friends and had a blast exploring and camping out! This video may not be the best but we did what we can and showed some really cool shots! I hope you enjoy this video!

Primitive Trailer Camping Ep1 - 2 Day Adventure Trail
Follow along on this action packed 25min episode. I drive to Clayton Georgia where I meet Tony (Vman1313 Adventures). He planned what he said was the best 2 day trip in the southeast. His route took us through 4 states and covered almost 400 miles of mostly dirt roads. We started in Georgia and crossed over to South Carolina where we stopped for a quick snack. After lunch we crossed over into NC and ultimately ended the day in Tennessee. Where we set up camp on top of a mountain with a great 360° view. the sunset and sunrise was amazing. After picking up camp we headed back into North Carolina and headed to Max Patch. Max Patch is a really cool pasture on top of a mountain. I highly recommend you stop and hike there. Having left Max Patch we prepare ourselves to tackle one of the toughest forest roads in the southeast. Not only is it tough for vehicles, but pulling trailers with us definitely adds to the potential for break downs and getting stuck. Hurricane Creek has to be one of the best single road trails in the area. It's easily the one fun trail you have been searching for. Anyway, a special thanks to Tony for taking the time out of his busy schedule to create a trip and show an out of towner around. Enjoy the video and feel free to share it.
Do you watch a lot of overlanding and expedition videos? Have you had a desire to get into adventure camping but think you need $70,000+ worth of equipment to do so? Look no further as I will help you get your foot in the door of overlanding. You don't need tons of gear and really nice rigs to have an adventure or even travel thousands of miles to a destination. So go ahead and subscribe. Follow along as I show you tips and tricks on how to pack, how to plan and choose a destination!

Peach State Overland Goes To The Georgia Bushcraft Spring Campout 2018
We were invited to attend Georgia Bushcraft's Spring Campout and it did not disappoint. We followed Steven and Patrick as they took in classes and events Saturday including axe working, blacksmithing, and soap making. We also got to see an intense one log firestarting competition that our friends at SARcraft ended up taking the grand prize in, as well as a fantastic wilderness first aid demo.
Our opinion: This is a great event and the first time Georgia Bushcraft has made a big push to be inclusive of overlanders. There's a mix of all kinds of people and skill sets and all were welcoming. It took us out of our comfort zone giving us a chance to meet new people, learn, and demo some fantastic skills. We will definitely be attending the biannual event in Fall 2018.

SE-EX, May 2017, Part 1, Oklahoma
Imagine, if you will, that you have to travel from Oklahoma City to Atlanta. You can drive 850 miles and 12 hours on Interstate highways. Maybe you can fly it – figure two to four hours being herded like cattle, depending on connections. But, even though this doesn’t usually jump to mind as overlanding territory, what kind of route could you make of it if you had ten days for the trip?
Well, my granddaughter was graduating from Georgia State, so I was going to travel to her graduation party at Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. En route I’d pick up my daughter, her aunt, in Atlanta – she’d be flying in from Houston. I cobbled together a route, including a section of the Oklahoma Adventure Trail, a couple days at Caddo Lake State Park in Texas, some county and Forest Service roads from a friend in Mississippi, and the Georgia Traverse. Another friend, Kirby, would join me for the first couple days of the trip. In all, I’d drive only about one hundred miles of Interstate. Most of the rest of the trip would be on dirt and two-lane back roads. Part 1 covers the Oklahoma section of the trip.
The music is Succotash by Silent Partner. It is available for free download through the YouTube Audio Library.
Overlanding Trails in Chattahoochee National Forest to Tellico Plains
On Black Friday rather than participating in the rush for more materialistic things I don't need I opted to hook up with the folks from North Georgia Overland for a quick trip from the Mountains of North Georgia up through Chattahoochee National Forest into Cherokee National Forest in Tellico Plains TN then back down into GA.
