History
Established in 1998.
Created at the edge of the Cherokee National Forest, the Iron Mountain Inn B&B was designed and built by the Innkeeper, Vikki Woods, to be a respite from the real world for guests wanting comfortable luxury while they explored the beauties of the Watauga Lake district, the Appalachian Trail and other of Johnson County's charms.
Although running a bed and breakfast was not a lifelong dream of Vikki, she knew she wanted to live in a beautiful mountain area, and since she comes from a long line of women who took in boarders and/or rented their homes, she felt that running a B&B was the perfect life for her. And so it has proved.
After over 13 years (in 2010) Vikki still enjoys providing Pampering Perfected service and friendship to those wonderful people who arrive as strangers and leave as friends. This is the job she had been looking for all her life.

Shane was born with a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy that requires him to use an electric wheelchair. He is the author of several award-winning books, the President of a nonprofit organization called Laughing At My Nightmare, and a renowned public speaker who has performed across the country at places such as Harvard University, The University of Florida, The University of Connecticut, Princeton University, and many more.
Hannah is a senior at Carleton College, studying sociology and anthropology. She works as a researcher for an educational consulting firm. Her future aspirations include attending law school and owning a goat sanctuary. She films and edits the “Squirmy and Grubs” vlog.
Shane and Hannah have been dating for 3 years and living together in Minneapolis for a year. Their interabled relationship often confuses people, because much of society still cannot fathom people with disabilities being involved in loving, intimate relationships. Anyone who watches these episodes will quickly see their relationship is just as “normal” as any other. Sure, Hannah helps Shane use the bathroom and brush his teeth, but those activities do not detract from the emotional, intellectual, and physical connection they experience together.

Backroads Mississippi: Hidden, Civil War Spring Supplied Confederates at Vicksburg
Some places, because of their proximity to important events, become part of history. That's the case with this nearly-forgotten spring south of Vicksburg, Mississippi. In 1863, prior to the Civil War Siege of Vicksburg, this spring ended up being along one of the routes taken by retreating Confederates. As such, it supplied water to an army. I took a hike to find the headwaters of this spring, and think you might enjoy going along.

On Cartoon Network, WB!, ABC, and the FOX version of The Merrie Melodies Show, the entire scene is cut where Bugs impersonates a black slave to get past the Mason-Dixon line, blows his cover by playing Yankee Doodle, places a whip in Yosemite Sam's hand and begs Sam not to beat him, then comes in as Abraham Lincoln reprimanding Sam for what he supposedly done.
While ABC, Cartoon Network, and WB showings deleted the entire part, FOX's The Merrie Melodies Show showed Bugs crossing the Mason-Dixon line as a slave and singing Yankee Doodle before Sam catches him, but cut the part where Bugs places a whip in Sam's hand, begs Sam not to beat him, then comes in as Abraham Lincoln to reprimand him.
The Cartoon Network version also cuts the brief shot of Yosemite Sam coming out of a trench with a Confederate flag waving above it and yelling, Charge!.

Murfreesboro is a city in and the county seat of Rutherford County, Tennessee.
