The Great Ocean Road: Australia's Southern Coast
Recorded January 11, 2007.
The Great Ocean Road is a 150 mile stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool. The road was constructed to provide work for returning soldiers and dedicated as a Memorial to those killed in the First World War. It is one of Australia's great scenic coastline drives. Much of the road hugs the coast tightly, offering outstanding views of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. Between Anglesea and Apollo Bay is a particularly scenic stretch of road which passes through many towns where mountains meet the sea. The main beach in Lorne offers great views of Louttit Bay nestled in a natural amphitheatre of hills, and Teddy's Lookout is not far from the main street. The section near Port Campbell provides access by foot or helicopter to some of the most scenic coastline in the world, because of its striking and dramatic natural limestone and sandstone rock formations. These formations have been created by erosion from waves and rain and include Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto, London Bridge (renamed to London Arch after the 'bridge' partly collapsed), and most famously the Twelve Apostles.
This video begins at Torquay and continues as we drive west. Next we make stop at Bells Beach and Port Campbell. We then see some koala bears at Kenneth River. After a stop at Apollo Bay we make it to the highlight of the day, the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. At the Twelve Apostles I go up in a helicopter for some great views of the coast. The video concludes at London Bridge/Arch.

Fur Seals Playing at Lady Julia Percy Island in Victoria
Check out these friendly creatures having a 'sealy good' time on the water out near Lady Julia Percy Island, Victoria.
Lady Julia Percy Island, also known by its Aboriginal name Deen Maar or Dhinmar, lies 6 kilometres off the coast, in the Barwon South West region of Victoria, Australia in Bass Strait.
The sea was a bit ordinary with a 15-20 knt SE wind so we decided to drift on our flathead ground landing some nice flaties.
Because it was an 8 hour reef trip we headed out to Lady Julia Percy Island to get some shelter behind the Island.
While there we tried for some Yellow Tail Kingfish using baits and lures but got no interest.
In the meantime everyone enjoyed the sights that Lady Julia Percy has to offer along with the antics of the Fur Seals.

Excalibur Tuna Fishing Boat Tour - Newport Oregon - YouTube Travel
Beautiful Newport harbor and a tour of the fishing boat Excalibur, wow.
Imagine sailing on a 90 ft aluminum boat to Hawaii then Tahiti, Fiji, around Asia on the way to Japan and back to North America chasing fish.
25,000 gallon fuel capacity is not enough to make the round trip...a 1 dollar difference per gallon of fuel if refueling fully is $25,000 - the boats on this circuit do not refuel in Canada.
???? Great Ocean Road Victoria Australia ????????
#greatoceanroad #Australia #Melbourne
The Great Ocean Road is an Australian National Heritage listed 243-kilometre (151 mi) stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Allansford. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I, the road is the world's largest war memorial. Winding through varying terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks, including the Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations, the road is an important tourist attraction in the region.
The Great Ocean Road starts at Torquay and travels 244 kilometres westward to finish at Allansford near Warrnambool. The road is two lane (one in each direction), and is covered by a speed limit changing between 50 kilometres per hour and 100 kilometres per hour.
The road is considered a tourist attraction in the area, in which much of the road hugs coastline affectionately known as the Surf Coast between Torquay and Cape Otway and the Shipwreck Coast further west of Cape Otway, providing visibility of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. The road traverses rainforests, as well as beaches and cliffs composed of limestone and sandstone, which is susceptible to erosion. The road travels via Anglesea, Lorne, Apollo Bay, and Port Campbell, the latter being notable for its natural limestone and sandstone rock formations including Loch Ard Gorge, The Grotto, London Arch (formerly London Bridge) and The Twelve Apostles.
