Excerpts from The Pook of Pok
Can you see the Sacred in the Secular?
The game of life is dancing through our lives, clothed in riddles, myth and mystery. Yet at each step empowering us, if we will but pause a moment and open to it, with love enough to break the bonds that beset and drain the beauty of this realm, to mend an earth and set sacred spirit to reign.
Our challenge then, for each and all, is to play the music of our hearts in this sacred place, to put an end to war's disgrace, to lift the fallen and forlorn, to share our care and care for all.
In my view with similarities to Yeats and Taliesin, ''Pok the Bard'' introduces himself, Enchanter and Musician, Poet of the Fae.
Playing his mandolin, he portrays the beauties of this magic land and all the beings herein, explaining how he has protected this wonder for us, bids us enter in.
Choirs of magical beings have been singing to celebrate the sanctity of the Earth since the Elders first descended from the stars. These songs nurture lifekind and lead all beings towards their own spiritual development, like the sun drawing souls to flower and bloom, so the spirit songs draw us towards the true nature of infinite delight both within and beyond this realm.
Other names for these Elders are the Fae, Sidhe, Gentry, Little People or Tuatha da Danaan, collectively - they the faeries ** ~

What's Radical About Mixed Race? Minelle Mahtani, Ann Morning, & Jared Sexton
On April 20, 2015, the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU hosted What's Radical About 'Mixed Race'?. Eschewing an apolitical “celebration” of mixed race, this panel examined the movement’s implications for multiracial coalition and the future of race in the US and Canada, asking: does the multiracial movement challenge—or actually reinforce—the logics of structural racism?
Minelle Mahtani critically located how an apolitical and ahistorical Canadian “model multiracial” upholds the multicultural claims of the Canadian settler state. Jared Sexton called to task multiracial activists who leverage a mixed race identity in opposition to those who are “all black, all the time.”
A roundtable conversation moderated by Ann Morning (NYU Department of Sociology) followed.

SUMMARY
=======
China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area. Governed by the Communist Party of China, the state exercises jurisdiction over 22 (de jure 23) provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
China emerged as one of the world's earliest civilizations, in the fertile basin of the Yellow River in the North China Plain. For millennia, China's political system was based on hereditary monarchies, or dynasties, beginning with the semi-legendary Xia dynasty in 21st century BCE. Since then, China has expanded, fractured, and re-unified numerous times. In the 3rd century BCE, the Qin reunited core China and established the first Chinese empire. The succeeding Han dynasty, which ruled from 206 BC until 220 AD, saw some of the most advanced technology at that time, including papermaking and the compass, along with agricultural and medical improvements. The invention of gunpowder and movable type in the Tang dynasty (618–907) and Northern Song (960–1127) completed the Four Great Inventions. Tang culture spread widely in Asia, as the new Silk Route brought traders to as far as Mesopotamia and Horn of Africa. Dynastic rule ended in 1912 with the Xinhai Revolution, when a republic replaced the Qing dynasty. The Chinese Civil War resulted in a division of territory in 1949, when the Communist Party of China established the People's Republic of China, a unitary one-party sovereign state on Mainland China, while the Kuomintang-led government retreated to the island of Taiwan. The political status of Taiwan remains disputed.
Since the introduction of economic reforms in 1978, China's economy has been one of the world's fastest-growing with annual growth rates consistently above 6 percent. According to the World Bank, China's GDP grew from $150 billion in 1978 to $12.24 trillion by 2017. Since 2010, China has been the world's second-largest economy by nominal GDP and, since 2014, the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity (PPP). China is also the world's largest exporter and seco ...
Watch: House Rules Committee debates impeachment vote rules (FULL LIVE STREAM)
The House Rules Committee will meet to set the parameters for Wednesday’s full debate and discuss any changes to the impeachment resolution. House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Trump and will hold a final vote on Wednesday, December 18. The Post’s Libby Casey will be joined by reporters Aaron Blake, James Hohmann and Donna Cassata.
Trump is just the fourth president in U.S. history to face impeachment, which could be approved by this week on the House floor. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son. China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area, depending on the source consulted. Governed by the Communist Party of China, the state exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
In the 3rd century BCE, the Qin unified core China and established the first Chinese empire. Tang culture spread widely in Asia, as the new maritime Silk Route brought traders to as far as Mesopotamia and Horn of Africa.
As of 2016, it is the world's second-largest economy by nominal GDP and largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). China is also the world's largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods. China is a recognized nuclear weapons state and has the world's largest standing army and second-largest defense budget. The PRC is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council as it replaced the ROC in 1971, as well as an active global partner of ASEAN Plus mechanism. China is also a leading member of numerous formal and informal multilateral organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), WTO, APEC, BRICS, the BCIM, and the G20. China is a great power and a major regional power within Asia, and has been characterized as a potential superpower.
