Inside the Spakenburg Windmill
We visit the De Spakenburgse Dagen today with Aya and Yuka. We went there on a bike ride about 15 Km. from home and I really enjoy seeing the cornfield, cows, horses, birds, tractor at works, etc. along the way. We live in a new building area and really miss seeing the green. The scenery on the way is really nice. All the nice house and garden in the village are really beautiful and give such a true Dutch culture.
On they way we saw this wind mill and thought would be nice to check it out and went inside. First time for Timo in a windmill in his life! ^__^ and had such a privilege to talk to Wim, the windmill man who work there voluntary two days a week. He shown us and the kids around how things work and we had such a lovely time!
Thanks Wim and you made our day even nicer! ^___^

Sam's Eurotrip #25: I'm from Holland! Isn't that veird? - Zaanse Schans
Unfortunately, our time in Amsterdam flew by. But, thankfully, we left enough time to stop and see the windmills! Don't worry, it actually is pretty interesting.
Zaanse Schans is a little town outside of Amsterdam where they have placed and refurbished many original windmills. They line the river and look across to houses that sit on the opposite side of the river. The windmills are still operating and actually owned by people who use them to make a living.
Watch as my family and I explore the inside of one of the windmills and as one of the gears almost breaks and kills us all. We may or may not come out alive!

DutchCatTwelve Introduction
After extensive sea trails the DutchCatTwelve was presented to selected groups of journalists, prospects and prospective dealers on the 20th of August in Spakenburg, the Netherlands. The world premier during the Amsterdam In Water Boat Show from August 30th until September 4th 2016 will be the promotional highlight.
DutchCatTwelve is the first motor catamaran ideally suited for both coastal and inland waterways. Her interior concept is unprecedented with her loft-like feel and highly customable interior and decoration. The different drive train options make maximum use of the low drag hulls, whether one is looking for the eco-friendliest way of propulsion or a fast, low consumption, motor yacht.
Luxury in its purest form: The catamaran hull shape is renowned for improving stability and lowering resistance, making the DutchCatTwelve easy and comfortable to sail.
Relax on the lounge settee – measuring more than 2.5 metres – on the forward deck or enjoy your own private terrace on the water on the aft deck. Other highlights include the entirely flat floor of no less than 30m2 of the saloon and cockpit with 360° views. Comfort while underway has also been maximised and you have direct contact with those on the luxury seats in front of the helm.
Standard the DutchCat is provided with a folding wall that opens up across its full beam of almost four metres. Optional you can choose between several features sliding windows and one of the options are two electric sunroofs. Experience sailing in an open vessel which can be closed within 30 seconds should the need arise.
The entire vessel features some truly impressive headroom – no less than 2.10 metres in the cabins, and even 2.20 metres in the saloon and bathrooms. These generous dimensions make the DutchCatTwelve highly suitable as a second home, where you will wake up after a good night's sleep on the comfy box-spring beds.
