NSCC Proud: Makayla Knapp
Makayla Knapp did everything backwards—career offer, college graduation, then high school graduation—and yet it worked out perfectly. She began taking College Credit Plus classes her sophomore year of high school, working toward and associate degree from Northwest State. With her passion for Minecraft and other programming platforms as her inspiration, Makayla focused on earning a degree in computer programming. While earning her degree, she was offered a full-time position at Spangler Candy Company in Bryan, where she started after graduating from NSCC in the spring of 2018. Just a short time later, she graduated from high school. Way to go, Makayla!

50th Anniversery of the NYC Black Beetle Jet Railcar Route
Here I am retracing part of the route from Butler Indiana, to Edgerton Ohio in three parts, not much to see but this is the route it took, and the day was July 23,1966 I thought it was on the 28th but that date on the video was the day the head of the Project got commissioned to make a way they could do highspeed rail testing on the mainline, and from Toledo to the one turn in Butler Indiana is one straight line, for 75 miles and the longest stretch in the nation of straight rail, and they thought the flatlands of the old Pensy Racetrack from Van Wert to Fort Wayne was fast at 120 mph as they would go hauling the mail and occasionally passenger trains.
This run was made by a Budd Streamliner Railcar they put 2 Corveir Bomber jet engines on, and at one point went up to 195 mph, but when it hit the speed trap its was slowing down the story goes, and set the mainline record that still stands today on the fastest rail vehicle speed on the mainline rails, sure the rocket sled is faster but this is a mainline rail, and indeed there is a plaque in Bryan Ohio where the run was staged up for on the old New York Central Railroad, the same city where the ohio art of etech a sketch fame and the spangler candy company reside, the spangler candy company is actually right by the railroad tracks and just a few city block lenghts down from the amtrak station there, even though I dont show Bryan on video I did indeed go there but I ran out of battery to film the whole way there.
