Vermont Supreme Court Obama eligibility challenge of Natural Born Citizen status
Vermont Supreme Court Obama eligibility challenge of Natural Born Citizen status
H. Brooke Paige declares that Obama was not eligible to be on the Vermont ballot because his father was not a US citizen.
Both Mr. Paige and the state attorney made erroneous statements. Those errors will be addressed at
From H. Brooke Paige:
It is important to note that Judge Bent relied principally upon the dicta of Judge Brown at the end of that Courts' ruling in the Motion to Dismiss in Ankeny v. Governor of Indiana 916 N.E. 2d 678 which was by no means conclusive as to the definitional issue and in the end conflates and confuses the meanings of the two distinct and different types of citizenship recognized in our nation, i.e. Citizens of the United States and natural born Citizens. In the underlying ruling of the Supreme Court in Wong Kim Ark 19 U.S. 662. SCOTUS addressed its understanding of Wong's status as a Citizen of the United States. Further SCOTUS informs us that through Minor and Wong Kim Ark that the definition of a natural born Citizen is not found in the Fourteenth Amendment. Despite this fact, Judge Brown, in Ankeny, found his definition in the Fourteenth Amendment in the Wong Kim Ark's holding, which only found Wong to be a citizen of the United States at birth under the amendment and not an Article II natural born Citizen. For the Vermont Courts to rely on the writings of Judge Brown in Ankeny, rather than to make a de novo review of the underlying legacy of the rulings of SCOTUS, is to place reliance in the hands of a Indianan Appeals Court's Judge (as Judge Bent has done) and while this ruling may be of interest , the Vermont Courts are under absolutely no obligation to rely upon it. In the underlying Superior Court action, here in Vermont, the Plaintiff (now Appellant) submitted the, then newly published, Memorandum of Law -- Barack Obama is Ineligible to be President, For He Is Neither a 'Natural Born Citizen' Nor a 'Citizen of the United States', at the Time of the Adoption of this Constitution, a far more detailed and reasoned study into the SCOTUS legacy of the meaning of natural born Citizen[ship]. The Vermont Supreme Court should make a fresh review of the underlying history and reach its own scholarly conclusion.

Colchester Police Hunt Suspect In Brown Jacket (2:52pm)
Detectives hunting the killer of student Nahid Almanea have revealed new details about a man they want to question.
Police said a suspect who was seen near the scene of the 31-year-old Saudi's murder was wearing a distinctive brown jacket.
The man, who is described as aged between his late teens and 30, and of average build with thick dark hair, was seen on the Salary Brook Trail, where Ms Almanea was stabbed.
Police search a pond near the scene of the murder
They also repeated their appeal to help identify a man wearing a bright red hooded top seen running nearby.
This morning officers drained a local pond as part of their investigation but said they have yet to find the weapon used in the killing.
Det Chief Superintendent Steve Warron, who is leading the investigation, said an intensive fingertip search was being carried out and two other bodies of water would also be examined.

He also urged local residents to check their gardens and bins for any items they did not recognise such as bloodstained clothing or footwear, that may have been discarded by the killer.
Sky's Joe Tidy, reporting from Colchester, said police had described the latest development as significant rather than major, and that enquiries were running in parallel with the probe into the murder of Jim Attfield, found stabbed to death in the city in March.
Police say there are obvious similarities with the murder of Jim Attfield that are too significant to ignore so they are looking to work alongside each other in both cases, he said.
Mr Attfield's mother, Julie Finch, told Sky News she was concerned that the killer or killers of her son, had not yet been found.
You turn on the news and every story is a murder or someone is in court for murder, she said.
The last known picture of Ms Almanea before her murder
Until you're in a situation where you've lost someone you don't notice it.
But now I'm terrified for my girls. I won't go out on my own and it proves with this latest murder that it doesn't matter what time you go out or where you are. Everyone has to be so much more vigilant.
Ms Almanea was stabbed 16 times while walking along a path on Tuesday morning.
The student from Saudi Arabia had been taking an English language course at the University of Essex as part of her studies for a life sciences PhD.
Jim Attfield was found stabbed to death in March
Police released a CCTV picture of the 31-year-old taken moments before her death and a map of her likely route from the home she shared with her brother to the spot on the Salary Brook trail where her body was found.

Driving Through Downtown Bennington, Vermont (VT), USA
Bennington, Vermont (VT)
Bennington is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, in the United States. It is one of two shire towns (county seats) of the county, the other being Manchester.[4][5] The population is 15,431, as of 2014 US Census estimates.[6] Bennington is the most populous town in southern Vermont, the third-largest town in Vermont (after Essex and Colchester) and the sixth-largest municipality in the state including the cities of Burlington, Rutland, and South Burlington in the count.
The town is home to the Bennington Battle Monument, which is the tallest human-made structure in the state of Vermont. The town has ready access to natural resources and waterpower, and a long history of manufacturing, primarily within wood processing. The town is also recognized nationally for its pottery, iron, and textiles.
Battle of Bennington
The town is known in particular for the Battle of Bennington, which took place during the Revolutionary War. Although the battle took place approximately 12 miles (19 km) to the west in what is now the state of New York, an ammunition storage building located in Bennington was an important strategic target. On August 16, 1777, Gen. John Stark's 1,500-strong New Hampshire Militia defeated 800 German (Hessian) mercenaries, local Loyalists, Canadians and Indians under the command of German Lt. Col. Friedrich Baum. German reinforcements under the command of Lt. Col. Heinrich von Breymann looked set to reverse the outcome, but were prevented by the arrival of Seth Warner's Green Mountain Boys, the Vermont militia founded by Ethan Allen.
In 1891, the Bennington Battle Monument was opened. The monument is a 306-foot-high (93 m) stone obelisk that is the tallest human-made structure in Vermont. It is a popular tourist attraction.

Hardwick Vermont Dog Rescue Collaborative
On Wednesday, February 25th, there was a large raid of dogs and cats in Eden, Vermont. The news coverage was monumental.
Funds were covered quickly for their medical care and the animals were spread throughout the state to different shelters. It was amazing and wonderful.
That same day, Random Rescue of Williamstown, VT was called to help 4 dogs from a cruelty situation in Hardwick.
Police and animal welfare representaives were called out for horses, goats, and sheep. The 4 dogs were kept in a small outdoor kennel, matted and standing in their own feces.
Beautiful Chow/Akita mixes; they are nice, and they are forgiving.
We won't know what will happen to these dogs. Unlike the Eden dogs they were not surrendered and the 'owner' is fighting for them.
We are hoping they will be made available for adoption soon.
In the meantime, were offered a hand to clean them up. :)
Their vet fees are nothing compared to those of the Eden dogs, but for a small rescue it is enourmous.
It is not a rare occurance; shelters get dogs like this every day. Funds are always short and we all do our best.
If you'd like to donate to the Hardwick dogs' vet care, please call Randolph Reginal Vet at 802-728-3505 (payment toward Random Rescue).
