Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. Escape from the Summer Heat in Town_도심속 더위탈출
We can find the equivalent of a top-class beach resort in the middle of town at Gachang-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu.
Today we visited the region's largest water theme park, Spa Valley, which covers 6,600㎡.
From the highest speed slide in Asia, to the thrill of the hurricane slide, to the water cannon surging below, to the waterfalls cascading from above, to the waterwheel slide, this is an adventure land where you can enjoy all kinds of water-based activities.
Many people come here to escape from the summer heat.
As well as every imaginable kind of fun facility, there are a diving pool with a depth of 5.8 meters and a wave pool.
Here you can enjoy a variety of exhilarating entertainments while giving yourself to the waves, too.
You can have fun in the water here all year round regardless of the season or the weather.
There are also some special purpose pools including a doctor fish pool, a yangsu pool, and an ultrasonic wave pool among others.
Now, not far from Spa Valley, you can have a great time in the eco theme park and enjoy Mother Nature right in the middle of a town.
Herb Hills, located in the park, is a designed to raise people's awareness of the importance of the forest and the environment through diverse forest-experience programs and plays.
While you walk along a beautiful road that sits comfortably with nature, you can lose yourself in the fragrance of herbs.
The summer heat vanishes before you know it as you walk around the phytoncide square, which exudes a delicate pine scent, the metasequoia road, where dawn redwoods emit 60 times more oxygen than pine trees, and a valley cooled by a refreshing breeze.
There are a few shops selling herbal products. There's also a place where visitors can have a hands-on experience of herb candle and soap making.
It's quite popular not only with families but also with couples wanting to make herbal products for themselves.
Zoo-Zoo Land is a place where you can touch and stroke animals in an open space.
It's not a big zoo with lots of wild beasts, but it's popular with children because they can have physical contact with the animals.
Besides Zoo-Zoo Land, another attraction is the animal road show, which is loved by men and women of all ages.
For those who need more than just a quiet rest amid nature surroundings, the Eco Adventure is also a popular tourist spot where you can enjoy leports in the wild.
You can have great fun moving along wires between trees or on ropes between wooden
structures.
Why not head for the cool waters and thrills of Spa Valley or the beautiful flowers and herbal scent of the mountains and valleys of Herb Hills whenever you start feeling fatigued by the summer heat?
