Hi there, in this video, I vlogged my time in Taiwan. I took a daytrip from Taipei to Wulai, a small city known for its hot springs. I spent some time at Volando Urai Spa Resort soaking in the Wulai hot spring views. I was surprised to see how turquoise blue the water was it! It was so beautiful. Chinese Foot Massage: Cure-all or Hoax? | Shanghai
It is believed that a Chinese foot massage can not only maintain and promote health but also cure a variety of ailments. In this video, I get a traditional foot massage and see if the benefits are as legit as they say.
Traditional Chinese foot massages start off with a footbath and proceed to an intense massage of the feet, ankles, and legs.
At times it’s soothing. Other times it’s actually quite painful. But as the dexterous hands of a foot masseuse plow over my soles, I want to believe my body is experiencing an intense detoxification, or something like that.

This week, we tried foot massage at Youngsong just next to the fitness building. Even if you have to walk a little, you know that your foot will receive a perfect treatment once arrived there, so it’s worth it.
First of all, you choose from 4 different drug packs for your footbath.
返老還童 to postpone senility, 貴妃美人 to bring vitality and nourrishing white skin, 元氣十足to be less stiff, and捻花惹草 against sleep problems.
Personnaly, I tried the last one and it was really satisfying.
During the footbath, someone is massing really vigorously your shoulder. When it’s finished, your shoulders are not anymore stiff.
Then comes the head massage and finally the foot massage, it was very soft, especially compared to that of the shoulders. This is so distressing and so nice ! I really loved it ! I just wanted to sleep directly in the armchair so comfortable.
At the end, you can chose to try herbal jelly in which you will add some germ syrup and you’ll also have a Chinese herb tea. That tastes really good, the germ syrup tastes like honey. I liked it !
The herbal jelly replaced Guilinggao, a jelly also named Turtle Jelly used in Chinese medicine. Now it has been replaced because it’s really expensive and herbal jelly has the same herbs than the other one, so benefits don’t change from one to another. And with my French point of view, I think that it’s better that they have changed the recipe, because it’s a little bit shocking thinking that they are eating turtles.
As French people, the fascination that Chinese people have about the feet is really strange. Actually, in France the feet are quite taboo. We don’t have that much objects to take care of them. And when we ask to majority of women, they are complexed or at least, they don’t like their feet. So for us, at the beginning that was really different. So, even if it’s a Swiss man that created this, I think that European people don’t really like their feet.
If you’re still not convince, then you have to know that foot massage have so much benefits for us. For instance, it improves your circulation, it reduces the risk of some diseases, and it’s beneficial for your sex life.
