Vietnam, Mekong River Small Boat Roving Tour, Ho Chi Minh City
Mekong river tour is a part of a cultural touristic day trip. Except forcing guides for shopping it was nice. The river boat tour with small roving boats by women is nice.
You won't miss it. These types of tours is a part of very cheap touristic marketing. Since it is very cheap they will take you so many shops as well but at the end this type lunch included day tour is only choice for low budget short time travelers. It is nice to think this experience after your travel but maybe annoying while you are practicing this. Enjoy! It is better being in Ho Chi Minh City.

Private tour Cu Chi Tunnels in Saigon by Speed boat
This is a small group of 20 people maximum to explore the tunnels which are a great destination located 70 km form the Ho Chi Minh city center to the Northwest . Cu Chi was known as the area of steel in the war time , and the tunnel systems were over 200 km , which was considered the unbreakable underground village in the Vietnam - American war . It is legendary for it`s network of tunnels , and is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors.
Tourists can now visit portions of the Cu Chi Tunnels, crawl through some of the safer areas of the tunnels, view command centers and booby traps, fire an AK-47 rifle on a firing range and even eat a meal featuring typical foods that soldiers living in the tunnels would have eaten.
Can Gio Family Boat Tour | Top Things To Do in Ho Chi Minh City
On Saturday August 23rd 2014, we arranged for several families in Saigon to join us on a tour to Can Gio Mangrove Forest, in collaboration with Australia International School Vietnam.
Can Gio is a protected Unesco Biosphere Reserve of thick mangrove swamps with remarkably rich biodiversity, which remains one of Vietnam’s best kept secrets.
Our families departed Saigon early Saturday morning aboard our luxury speedboats to begin an amazing itinerary starting at a local riverside Mekong Delta market.
From there our boats meandered through the sleepy backwaters of picturesque Can Gio. We visited the Vam Set Eco Park, where the kids enjoyed meeting monkeys and feeding crabs, and boat rowing through the eerily quiet bat lagoon.
One of the most exciting parts of the tour was the crocodile feeding, which the parents enjoyed as much as the kids! Afterwards, the kids had the chance to hold adorable little baby crocs!
After a day full of adventures, a traditional Vietnamese lunch was enjoyed, before heading back to Saigon by speedboat, where the kids where presented with our Young Explorers Club certificates and some goodies from Les Rives.
A great day out was had by all!

Full Speedboat Ride to Cu Chi Tunnels from Ho Chi Minh City
I took a speedboat to the Cu Chi Tunnels when I visited Ho Chi Minh City. The Cu Chi Tunnels (古芝地道 or Địa đạo Củ Chi) are a system of underground tunnels used by the Viet Cong in their fight against the Americans in the Vietnam War. There are mainly two ways to get to the Cu Chi Tunnels, the first is by bus which can take two to three hours, or by speedboat which takes just over an hour. I booked the speedboat tour at my hotel at a cost of 1,899,000 Dong per person, which is around £62, €72, US$82 or HK$642. I know this is quite expensive even by Vietnamese standards, so if you have found a way to book the tour at a lower price, please leave a comment below!
The Cu Chi Tunnels speedboat tour is operated by Les Rives. In the morning of the tour, they arranged for a taxi to pick us up from our hotel and brought us to the pier. We boarded the speedboat and put on life jackets as the boat pulled out. I took out my action camera and started recording. We were led by a guide called Trinh, who gave us a rough idea of what to expect during the day: We will ride on the speedboat for around 1 hour 20 minutes, before having lunch at our destination. After lunch, we will walk over to the Cu Chi Tunnels where we will learn about the secret entrances to the tunnel system, underground bunkers and even crawl through an actual tunnel itself! For those willing to pay extra, there is a shooting range where you can try out firing real guns!
After our introduction, the speedboat started accelerating and we were on our way. It was really windy that I could feel the wind literally cutting my face! Fruits and drinks are provided on board, but I do not think anyone would like to eat or drink anything in such circumstances. Funny enough, someone was able to sleep on the boat and two kids still played with their phones, even though there was a good chance of them dropping them in the water.
The boat got stuck at two instances, maybe it was easier for the boat to be caught to debris at low tide. But still, we arrived at our destination slightly ahead of schedule. Lunch was served at a restaurant next to the pier. The tour company tried their best to accommodate people with special dietary needs. The vegetarians and vegans were seated at a separate table. After lunch, we walked over to the Cu Chi Tunnels and began our tour.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and the Mekong Delta - 4K
Our day starts with a bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cu Chi tunnel complex utilised by the Viet Cong during the war against the US. The following day we re-join our bus in Ho Chi Minh City for the journey to Cai Be, situated in the Mekong Delta where we board a boat to begin exploring the Delta region and the people who live and work on the waterways created as the Mekong splits into many branches on its way to the South China Sea.

Start your trip with hotel pickup and transfer to Ho Chi Minh Pier where you board a luxury speedboat made of high-quality teak wood. Zip along the Saigon River to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, a ride that takes about one hour along tree-lined waterways. Get great photo ops of life along the river and enjoy unlimited refreshments served on board your speedboat. Morning tours include a light breakfast and afternoon tours have a late-morning snacks. Upon your arrival at the historic Cu Chi Tunnels complex, watch a short introductory film then follow your guide into the winding, underground network for approximately two hours of exploring the war memorial park. Visit underground bunkers that housed kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition depots and hospitals, part of the 75-mile-long (121-km) tunnel complex built by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War (known as the American War by the Vietnamese). View authentic relics from the war such as camouflaged tunnel entrances and a bullet-riddled tank. After your Cu Chi Tunnels tour, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a riverside restaurant, with a menu that may includes spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes, and soup. If you take the later tour, dinner is provided. After your meal, depart Cu Chi and return by speedboat to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival at the central pier, you will be driven back to your hotel.
