Spirit Of Yorkshire Receives VisitEngland Recognition For 2017
Earlier this week we visited the Captain Cook Memorial Museum in Whitby, which has just received an accolade from VisitEngland.
Well, they weren't the only attraction in Yorkshire to receive recognition.
Despite only diversifying into the tourism industry less than a year ago, the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery in Hunmanby has been given recognition in VisitEngland's latest annual reports.

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

Yorkshire Dales Distillery (Episode 150)
This episode is about not one, but three fantastic Gins, all of which have shot into John L's top 10. (It used to be top 5, but it seemed too difficult with the introduction of these three gins to determine the top 5!)
We discuss with Tony how he and his wife, Sarah, got into gin, what drove him to start his fantastic distillery and his goal of creating world-class spirit and providing employment for veterans, young people and ex-cons.
During the interview, Tony takes me through a tasting experience and then at the end of the interview I hot foot it back to the Cellar for John M to taste and give his opinion!
Let us know what you think of the interview and if you get to try the gin what you think of it.

Watertons Reserve Distillery Interview with Dave Owens (Episode 159 Part 1)
In this episode, we talk to Dave Owens the distiller at Watertons Distillery based near Wakefield in West Yorkshire.
Dave tell us about Charles Waterton a pioneer in conservationist - the 18th Century's David Bellamy, who even Charles Darwin took inspiration from! Given that Charles Waterton was one of the most famous historical figures in the area and Dave's admiration for the pioneering conservationist he decided to name his Gin after this great historical figure.
Dave explains how he developed Waterton's four gins in their portfolio and we taste each of them as Dave explains the flavour profile in each of the gins.
Dave's Classic Dry is based on the taste profile of an 18th-century Gin with hints of roasted Cocoa nib.
The Yorkshire Rhubarb Fruit Gin has, as well as rhubarb, apple and heaps of hedgerow leaves and berries.
The Rose and Raspberry Old Tom is a lightly sweet gin with hints of raspberries and rose petal.
The Dandelion & Burdock Old Tom has dandelion and burdock infused into the lightly sweetened gin.
