Cars submerged as sea ice cracks in Russia
It was not a good day for fishermen on Russia's Russky Island; when cracking sea ice saw 20 parked vehicles submerged.
The cars were parked close together on ice near the coastline where their owners were fishing when the incident occurred early this morning.
Some cars were completely submerged, with the water depths reaching 2m.
Towing services immediately came to their rescue, removing the vehicles from the icy water.

Bayaskhalanov Art Studio. The process of creation medals for AIBA 2019 at Ulan-Ude
We are glad to inform fans of a sport of all over the globe that Bayaskhalanov Art Studio created medals for AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships 2019. The originality of the item appears in constructive decision basing on refraction of two surfaces flowing to each other. The squaring form reminds a ringside, where the fight for the championship takes place.
The upper surface decorating with the competitions’ logo bends over the lower part as a bridge above the water. The outline image of the lake Baikal takes place under the upper side. Baikal is like a father for humans, settled near its shores hundreds of years ago. Being the center which magically connecting people, the lake bears cultural prosperity of both fields, spiritual and physical. Baikal is similar to the source of life, filling participants with powers for the competitions.
Sport inspires to the win not so much over the rival, but primarily over yourself. Medals with unique design convey respect and admiration of Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov to sportswomen, whose the first aim is to outdo herself and to take the victory in a fair fight.

Russia: Eight children injured after blast rocks Irkutsk mall
At least eight children were injured in an explosion at the Komsomall shopping centre in Irkutsk on Friday.
The footage shows the exact moment of the blast, which according to local officials occurred during a scientific workshop for children, as alcohol-containing liquids suddenly burst into flames.
All the children were immediately transported to a hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Investigators detained the shopping mall's technical director as well as the guides, who were holding the presentation, for questioning.

A taciturn defender whose name translates into English as “Pomegranate”. He was part of the Russia squad at Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup but didn’t play. Now his time has come - a combination of injuries and retirements have propelled him into the team, despite the attention of detractors. At just shy of 6ft 1in Granat isn’t the tallest and lacks the kind of jump required in a centre-back, but he is sharp and definitely tenacious. He’s perhaps best remembered for an incident in May 2014, during his time at Dinamo Moscow, when he was attacked by a pitch invader at an away match with Zenit. He was concussed and sustained a fractured jaw. This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since the 2006 tournament in Germany, the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe and the eleventh time that it has been held in Europe. All of the stadium venues are in European Russia to keep travel time manageable. It is expected to be the most expensive football championship in history, budgeted at US$ 11.8-14 billion surpassing the cost of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.[2][3]
The final tournament will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team. Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last tournament in 2014, including defending champions Germany, while Iceland and Panama will both be making their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15 July at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.[4][5][6]
The winners of the World Cup will qualify for the 2021 FIFA Confederations Cup. Pre-tournament, favorites to win the final were Brazil, France, Germany and Spain.[7]
