This drive begins in Canmore, then heads into the mountains past a series of reservoirs to Spray Lake. After seeing the lake, I turned around and headed back towards Canmore, stopping first at the Grassi Lakes Trailhead.

Camping is a popular Canadian pastime and one of our favourite campgrounds is Spray Lakes, Alberta, Canada. It's a pristine lake surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and lush pine forest.
On this trip though, we brought our rescue dog from Cuba on her first camping trip!
This little video showcases a little slice of Spray Lakes camping, which is $26 per night for a tent site.

Driving Smith-Dorrien Spray Trail - Alberta - Canada
En route - Smith-Dorrien Spray Trail - Alberta - Canada
Cette route de gravier, d'une soixantaine de kilomètres, est située dans un secteur très pittoresque, isolé de la civilisation. Elle porte également le nom d'autoroute 742.
Elle est située près de Canmore. En fait, elle relie cette ville au parc provincial Peter Lougheed en traversant la Vallée Spray (Spray Valley).
Elle longe le Spray Lakes Reservoir, un lac de barrage, et offre des vues imprenables sur les lacs et les montagnes.
Les opportunités de photos sont incalculables dans cette région tant la beauté du paysage est éblouissante.
Seul bémol, la route est très poussiéreuse et certains roulent vraiment trop vite. Notre véhicule était recouvert d'une poussière très fine qui s'était infiltrée dans les moindres racoins.
Nous nous sommes donc rendus à un lave-auto pour enlever toute cette poussière.
Malgré ce petit inconvénient, nous referions ce trajet sans hésitation tant ce secteur regorge de beautés naturelles.

Mt. Buller - Spray Valley Provincial Park (Alberta, Canada)
2017-06-24 - Mt .Buller is more of a long, steep hike than a scramble. Its main benefit is that the trailhead is right off of Smith-Dorrien Trail (Highway #742) at the Buller Mountain Picnic Area and that it offers an amazing 360 degree panorama of lakes and peaks, including Mt. Assiniboine, 'Matterhorn of the Rockies'.
