Lotus Pond, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Among all the attractions in Kaohsiung, the Lotus Pond is probably one of the most popular ones. This artificial lake was opened in 1951, and it is located in the Zuoying District. There are many attractions around the area, including the Dragon Tiger Pagodas, the Spring and Autumn Pavilions, the Confucius Temple, and many other temples.
The lotus flowers bloom every summer has given it the name “Lotus Pond.” The pond is surrounded by willow trees, area of 75 hectares, also an area of temples like Confucius Temple, Spring Autumn Pavilion and Dragon and Tiger Tower. The foggy view in the morning and late evening makes the pond with the mystery feeling, especially in summer time, with the willow trees on the pond side and floating duckweed are attractive to all visitors.
How to reach there: Reach MRT Zuoying station and take rear exit. Walk along the Shengli road and you will find lotus pond on your right side.

Tiger / Dragon Pagodas
-Next we have the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas which were built in 1976. One tower is the tiger tower the other is the dragon tower. Each tower is 7 stories tall and are connected to the shore by a long zig zag bridge. The towers are also connected to each other at the base. Within each tower there is a double spiral staircase, one for ascending and one for descending. These staircases are quite narrow and steep but once you reach the 7th floor the view is breathtaking.
