This is the newly remodeled and renovated Springfield Town Center in Springfield, Virginia! Formerly known as Springfield Mall, this shopping center underwent an overhaul worth millions of dollars over the last year or so in order to make it more modern and up to date. The results are spectacular!

This elevator is original from when the mall was first built. It's an older Monty, and I'd say it's in pretty good shape. It's probably one of the better elevators in a Macy's I've seen.

New VA Clinic Opens in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--It's been eight years in the making, but Springfield's new VA clinic is finally open for business.
The clinic is now accepting patients for some temporary limited services and on Tuesday, it welcomed its first two patients for physical therapy.
If you live long enough, sometimes the body starts to betray you.
I'm 81-years-old and I'm a little bit overweight, those knees have been through a lot that's all I can say, says Robert Stell, an Army veteran.
Stell relies on physical therapy to ease the years of knee pain before he has to resort to a more serious alternative.
I guess I've got no cartilage in them. They talked about replacing my knees, but we're trying physical therapy first, says Stell.
Stell served in the Army for three years in the 1950's in Germany. Since living near Springfield, he's grateful for a closer location to access his VA benefits.
It's a whole different world. Mt Vernon is not that far away, but still in bad weather and stuff, it was hard to get there and back and now it's more convenient naturally to have this fantastic facility they put together here and really appreciate it, says Stell.
This clinic will offer everything from primary care and mental health to lab, radiology, a new service is endoscopy and another new service that we're adding is dental, says VA public affairs officer, Wanda Shull.
Shull says the clinic will be fully operating by the end of December. It's expected the clinic will serve 17,000 veterans in one year averaging 200 per day.
The veteran population really is in Springfield and it always has been and so with the clinic not being located in Springfield, that meant that veterans were driving quite a long ways to get to their appointments even basic appointments and that's something the VA does not want to do, we want veterans to be close to their care, says Shull.
I have nothing but praise to say the way I've been treated and what the VA has done for me, says Stell.
The new clinic is located on 1850 West Republic Street and there are plans for a ribbon cutting lin ate January to celebrate its opening.
