Places to see in ( Breckenridge - USA )
Breckenridge is a Colorado town at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range. It's known for its ski resort, year-round alpine activities and Gold Rush history. The Victorian core of this former mining town is preserved as the Breckenridge National Historic District, running primarily along Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and '90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants.
Set at the foot of the marvelous Tenmile Range, Breck is a surviving mining town with a vibrant historic district. The down-to-earth vibe is a refreshing change from Colorado's glitzier resorts, and the family-friendly ski runs and gold-nugget history make it Summit County's most atmospheric destination. Regardless of whether it’s snow or shine, the BreckConnect Gondola up to the base of Peak 8 is where the fun begins.
The vast, hulking mountains here rise and fall, merging seamlessly into one another to present a perfect alpine backdrop. Laced with ski runs and hiking trails and stitched together with pine groves, they blaze gold in the morning, glow pink at dusk and fade into a deep shadowy blue as the sky pales then darkens, revealing endless stars best viewed from a frothing hot tub next to the roaring Blue River.

Spruce Creek Trail
This video was shot at Spruce Creek trail in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Spruce Creek is an intermediate trail that is fast and has a lot of flow. Not too many technical features, but there are lots of roots and some sand mixed into many of the climbs and descents that keep things interesting. The trail is well kept and there are several different route options making the trail between about 6.5 - 9 miles long depending on the sections you choose. The blue trail is open to hikers and bikers. There are also yellow trails that are hike and equine friendly. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you live in the Volusia/Flagler Counties area.
Mohawk Lakes Trail | Breckenridge, Colorado | With Dog
Me and Sparky are headed up the Mohawk Lakes Trail, it also features a super big waterfall you can get up close and personal with. Me and sparky had beautiful weather for the hike.
The hike
This hike was 8.6 miles out and back rated moderate, I would say the beginning was very easy moderate, once you get up near the falls and upper lake though it switches over to more difficult.
Good thing me and sparky love difficult and challenging hikes!
This hike took us about 4-5 hours we took plenty of breaks and had an amazing time!

Breckenridge Open Space & Trails
Summit County has an extensive trail system. In Breckenridge, 80% of all houses are within a quarter mile of a trail access (over 120 trail access points in town).
You can hike with your dog after work or ride your bike on trail from here to the other side of the state.
Many of the local trails were built to access mines in the late 1800s. Since that time, many of the ditches, burro and cart paths, flumes and roads have been repurposed for recreational access.
The Town, County and U.S. Forest Service have been working cooperatively to create, connect and maintain this system.
We strive to connect different routes to establish multiple loop opportunities and new trails to bypass road sections. Recently, we have added 4-5 miles of new trail per year. The system is growing and improving annually. We sell hard copy trail maps at the Welcome Center and local outdoor stores. Or it is available for free on line (BreckenridgeTrails.org).

This video shows scenes in the vicinity of the Twin Eagles Trailhead Campground in Pike National Forest in Colorado. This campground offers several improved sites for tent camping and a few sites that can accommodate small RVs. There is a well-kept pit toilet at the site, but no water or electrical hookups. The campground provides access to trails in the Lost Creek Wilderness area. There are, of course, many campgrounds in Colorado, but this little site is out of the way but convenient to both Denver and Colorado Springs camping enthusiasts. There are several other campsites available in the Pike National Forest.

Saint Vrain Mountain
While many will make the trek to RMNP and the Brainard Lake Recreation Area, few will find their way to the small trailhead for Mount Saint Vrain nestled deep in the woods behind the small town of Allenspark, Colorado. There you will find a small parking area with no real distinguishing attributes for the dense forests. One must begin a rather unforgiving and relentless climb from here, climbing up and above the timberline on a quiet, though demanding, hike.
Once above it all, the answer to the question, can you be in two places at one time, becomes quite obvious. Absolutely. But, be prepared to pick your jaw up from off the ground. While one can see amazing beauty in both Rocky Mountain National Park and the Indian Peaks Wilderness, the old saying, can you see the forest for the trees applies. It's one thing to be among these iconic wilderness areas, while it is a whole different experience to see them both in their grand expanse, first hand and at the same time.

Breckenridge Hike
Our hike in Breckenridge, CO. McCullough Gulch was the name of the hike, and it worked its way up a pretty rough mountainside to a max elevation of about 12,000ft, where there's a glacial lake that feeds the river and waterfalls that cascade down the mountain alongside the trail. It was absolutely gorgeous!
