Gleeson have a number of schemes which will help you get onto the property ladder.
Did you know you can buy a home even if you have no deposit saved? With Gleeson’s Save & Build scheme you can reserve your perfect home at a fixed priced & then take upto 12 months to save for your deposit whilst the home is built. This unique scheme is open to first time buyers & is available on our new homes developments across the North of England. You can also use Save & Build with Help to Buy & the Help to Buy ISA.
Help to Buy is a Government backed scheme which allows you to own 100% of your home put pay just 75% of the price. You are required to contribute a 5% deposit and the outstanding 20% is an equity loan from the Government which is interest free for 5 years. Using the scheme will help lower your mortgage repayments in the all-important first few years so it’s great for first time buyers and can also be used by next time buyers looking to upgrade to a larger home.
By opening a Help to Buy ISA you can save for a deposit quicker as the Government will give you a £50 bonus for every £200 you save. The maximum government bonus you can receive is £3,000 and the account is available to each first time buyer, not each household. This means that if you are planning to buy with your partner, for example, you could receive a government bonus of up to £6,000 towards your first home. The minimum government bonus is £400, meaning that you need to have saved at least £1,600 into your Help to Buy: ISA before you can claim your bonus. The maximum government bonus you can receive is £3,000 – to receive that, you need to have saved £12,000.
Whatever your situation Gleeson has a scheme to help you buy. If you are a first time buyer & have parents who can help you with a deposit our Parents Invest scheme can help them make money too. Through the scheme your parents can contribute upto 20% towards your deposit & we will pay them the equivalent of 5% on their investment for 5 years. It’s a win win situation, your larger deposit will allow you to get a better mortgage rate & in turn lower your mortgage repayments. Your parents will get a better return on their investment compared to leaving the money in the bank & the interest will be paid as a lump sum once you have moved into your house.
If you are in the enviable position of having your deposit saved we offer First Rung. Through this scheme you get to choose a designer package free of charge, which includes carpets & light fittings, which will be installed into your new Gleeson home for when you move in.
