Spurn Point 2018
Spurn is a narrow sand tidal islan located off the tip of the coast of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England that reaches into the North Sea and forms the north bank of the mouth of the Humber estuary. Prior to a severe storm in February 2017, which damaged part of the sandbank, Spurn was a spit with a semi-permanent connection to the mainland. A storm in 2013 made the road down to the end of Spurn impassable to vehicles at high tide.
The island is over 3 miles (4.8 km) long, almost half the width of the estuary at that point, and as little as 50 yards (46 m) wide in places. The southernmost tip is known as Spurn Head or Spurn Point and is the home to an RNLI lifeboat station and two disused lighthouses. It forms part of the civil parish of Easington.
Spurn Head covers 280 acres (113 ha) above high water and 450 acres (181 ha) of foreshore. It has been owned since 1960 by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and is a designated national nature reserve, heritage coast and is part of the Humber Flats, Marshes and Coast Special Protection Area.
BeBop 2 - Kilnsea to Spurn Point - 6th September, 2017
Wendy & I went out for a drive around East Yorkshire (in Nigel, our Camper Van), and stopped, for a Coffee, at the sight of the Godwin Artillery Battery; which was in operation during both the First and Second World Wars, but, is now in ruins.
Whilst the Coffee was brewing, I flew my BeBop 2, from the Easington Beach Holiday Park, towards Spurn Point, and back. It was somewhat windy, as is often the case along the east coast, so there are a several instances of video jello, however, on the whole, I am pleased with the resultant video.

Norfolk is suffering badly from coastal erosion and the government has stopped protecting it. Diana Wrightson's home and business in the village of Happisburgh is just one of the casualties.

Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus), Beacon Ponds, Spurn, East Yorkshire, United Kingdom, 23rd May 2011,
It's there right in the middle of the shot, but difficult to see until a passing Dunlin disturbs it. The phalarope flew in from the north late in the evening, and only rested briefly on Beacon Ponds before moving on.

RSPB Day Trips - Spurn Point - 21st Sept 2015
Todays my first monthly day trip to a nature reserve (Spurn Point), apparently I didn't choose a great trip to start with. Not many birds to be seen closely with the eye or scope but I enjoyed the few birds I did view. Common Snipe, Little Egret and Wheatear were the birds I enjoyed seeing.
