Whistler: The art of mountain culture
On a recent trip to Whistler, artist and influencer Rachel Pohl summarized the whole experience—from the riding to the art to the attention to detail people had when it comes to food—like this: “It really is all about expression.”
She and her husband, artist and athlete Charles Post, immersed themselves deep in Whistler’s mountain culture—everything from epic backcountry lines to the food at Garibaldi Lift Co. Bar & Grill. At Sushi Village they hung out with artist Vanessa Stark, who shared her unique way of expressing herself artistically, both on her snowboard and on the canvas.
Rachel and Charles finished out their trip with a special visit to Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre, getting an even deeper perspective on the culture that’s present in these mountains, and which goes back millennia.
