Universiade Torch Relay arrives in capital of Russia - 27th Summer Universiade 2013 - Kazan
The Universiade Flame reached Moscow on June 2. The official Torch Relay train arrived at the Kursky Railway Station where crowds of Muscovites welcomed the main symbol of the World University Games with fanfare.
The Universiade Flame travelled to Moscow from Vladimir -- one of the cities in Russia's famous Golden Ring -- where it received a rapturous welcome on June 1. The Torch Relay will begin in the Russian capital today, June 3. A total of 42 Torchbearers will carry the Universiade Flame through the streets of Moscow and light the City Cauldron of the upcoming Games in Moscow. The city's most outstanding university students, Kazan 2013 Ambassadors, Olympic champions, volunteers as well as representatives of the 27th Summer Universiade's partner companies will be among those carrying the Flame.
Moscow is the 17th city on the Russian leg of the Universiade Torch Relay, and the route it will follow in the capital is among the longest ones: 8,080 metres along the city's central streets and squares. The Relay will start at the front steps of the Lomonosov Moscow State University -- Russia's main institution of higher education -- and continue through Universitetskaya Square, Vernadsky Prospekt and the Frunzenskaya Embankment, ending beside the Monument to Juan Antonio Samaranch at the Luzhniki Stadium's Walk of Fame where the City Cauldron will be kindled.
The main symbol of the World University Games will be stored at the Lomonosov Moscow State University during the Torch's stay in the capital of Russia.
As we reported earlier, the Universiade Torch Lighting Ceremony took place at Paris-Sorbonne University where the first 'World Student Games' were held in 1923.
The historic moment in the Torch Relay arrived when the Universiade Flame embarked on a round-the-world voyage aboard the world's largest bark - the tall ship Sedov. On July 15th, the Torch was handed over to a team of navy cadets -- the Keepers of the Universiade Flame. Travelling aboard the bark Sedov, the Torch covered 45,000 nautical miles and repeated the route of greatest sailors of all times.

Come discover what Alaska was like 50 years ago! Hunt the famous Kamchatka peninsula with Russia's most experienced outfitter. The Average Russian brown bear trophies for the past few years have been over 9 feet with many of our clients' Russian brown bear trophies exceeding 10 feet in size. Exclusive areas, best guides and professional travel staff attend to all details of the trip.
The Hunting Consortium Ltd. has been working in Russia since 1987. This firm has established the best record in the industry for Russian brown bear hunts! Our success rate exceeds 100%, as many of our hunters take two (2) brown bears and NO hunter has ever returned without at least one brown bear during the 20 years Kamchatka has been open to foreign hunters - more than 400 brown bear hunts! We offer the best guides in the Russian Far-East and have a Hunting Consortium representative in every camp.
Russian Brown Bear
The Asiatic or Russian Brown Bear is found from the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan throughout Eastern Siberia to the Pacific coast of Russia. By far, the largest brown bear is found in the Russian Far East, in the provinces of Kamchatka, Magadan, and Khabarovsk. These salmon-eating Russian brown bears compare favorably in size to the brown bears of Alaska and numerous brown bear trophies with hides squaring over 10 feet, have been taken. The largest specimens (several exceeding 11 feet) have come from the Kamchatka Peninsula (Kamchatka brown bear). The population is quite high at the moment and hunting pressure has been kept modest in our three outfitting areas. Normally, several shoot-able brown bears can be seen each day, so the hunt is a search for the biggest possible trophy. There are generous quotas on the number of licenses issued and we can routinely arrange two licenses per client.

Main characteristic of russian sculpture is monumentality. Has a strong relation with its history and great dramatism. At the beginning it was not very developed due to the prohibition of idolatry. After the changes of Peter I, sculpture began to seem like european sculpture.

SUMMARY
=======
Anti-communism is opposition to communism. Organized anti-communism developed after the 1917 October Revolution in the Russia and it reached global dimensions during the Cold War, when the United States and the Soviet Union engaged in an intense rivalry. Anti-communism has been an element of movements holding many different political positions, including nationalist, social democratic, liberal, conservative, fascist, capitalist, anarchist and even socialist viewpoints.
The first organization specifically dedicated to opposing communism was the Russian White movement, which fought in the Russian Civil War starting in 1918 against the recently established Communist government. The White movement was supported militarily by several allied foreign governments, which represented the first instance of anti-communism as a government policy. Nevertheless, the Communist Red Army defeated the White movement and the Soviet Union was created in 1922. During the existence of the Soviet Union, anti-communism became an important feature of many different political movements and governments across the world.
In the United States, anti-communism came to prominence with the First Red Scare of 1919–1920. During the 1920s and 1930s, opposition to communism in Europe was promoted by conservatives, social democrats, liberals and fascists. Fascist governments rose to prominence as major opponents of communism in the 1930s and they founded the Anti-Comintern Pact in 1936 as an anti-communist alliance. In Asia, the Empire of Japan and the Kuomintang (the Chinese Nationalist Party) were the leading anti-communist forces in this period.
After World War II, fascism ceased to be a major political movement due to the defeat of the Axis powers. The victorious Allies were an international coalition led primarily by the United States, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, but after the war this alliance quickly broke down into two opposing camps: a Communist one led by the Soviet Union and a capitalist one led by the United States. The rivalry between the two sides came to be known as the Cold War and during this period the United States government played a leading role in supporting global anti-communism as part of its containment policy. There were numerous military conflicts between Communists and anti-Communists in various parts of the world, including the Chinese Civil War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Soviet–Afghan War. NATO was founded as an anti-communist military alliance in 1949 and continued throughout the Cold War.
With the Revolutions of 1989 and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, most of the world's Communist governments were overthrown and the Cold War ended. Nevertheless, anti-communism remains an important intellectual element of many contemporary political movements and organized anti-communism is a factor in the domestic opposition found to varying degrees within the People's Republic of China and other countries governed by Communist parties.

Victoria is the capital city of the Canadian province of British Columbia, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast. The city has a population of 85,792, while the metropolitan area of Greater Victoria has a population of 367,770, making it the 15th most populous Canadian metropolitan area. Victoria is the 7th most densely populated city in Canada with 4,405.8 people per square kilometre, which is a greater population density than Toronto.Victoria is the southernmost major city in Western Canada, and is about 100 km (60 mi) from British Columbia's largest city of Vancouver on the mainland. The city is about 100 km (60 mi) from Seattle by airplane, ferry, or the Victoria Clipper passenger-only ferry which operates daily, year round between Seattle and Victoria, and 40 km (25 mi) from Port Angeles, Washington, by ferry Coho across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and, at the time, British North America, Victoria is one of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest, with British settlement beginning in 1843. The city has retained a large number of its historic buildings, in particular its two most famous landmarks, Parliament Buildings (finished in 1897 and home of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia) and the Empress hotel (opened in 1908). The city's Chinatown is the second oldest in North America after San Francisco's. The region's Coast Salish First Nations peoples established communities in the area long before non-native settlement, possibly several thousand years earlier, which had large populations at the time of European exploration.
Known as The Garden City, Victoria is an attractive city and a popular tourism destination with a thriving technology sector that has risen to be its largest revenue-generating private industry. Victoria is in the top twenty of world cities for quality-of-life, according to Numbeo. The city has a large non-local student population, who come to attend the University of Victoria, Camosun College, Royal Roads University, the Victoria College of Art, the Canadian College of Performing Arts, and high school programs run by the region's three school districts. Victoria is popular with boaters with its rugged shorelines and beaches. Victoria is also popular with retirees, who come to enjoy the temperate and usually snow-free climate of the area as well as the usually relaxed pace of the city.
Kim Il-sung
Kim Il-sung (pronounced [kim sung]; born Kim Sŏng-ju; 15 April 1912 – 8 July 1994) was the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, commonly referred to as North Korea, from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. He held the posts of Prime Minister from 1948 to 1972 and President from 1972 to his death. He was also the leader of the Workers' Party of Korea from 1949 to 1994 (titled as chairman from 1949 to 1966 and as general secretary after 1966). He authorized the invasion of South Korea in 1950, triggering a police action by the United Nations led by the United States. A cease-fire in the Korean War was signed on 27 July 1953.
His tenure as leader of North Korea was autocratic, and he established an all-pervasive cult of personality around himself. From the mid-1960s, he promoted his Juche variant of socialism, which later replaced Marxism-Leninism as the ideology of the state.
