Ramalingeswara swamy Temple, located in Santharavuru, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh is a dedicated to the deity Ramalingeswara (the Hindu god Shiva). The temple dates back to the Chola period ( 12th century AD). According to The Hindu the temple administrators claim that the temple has a bell that reverberates 108 times when struck once,[1] and that there are only two such bells the other being at Kashi.[2]
The ancient temple of Lord Ramalingeswara swamy at Santharavuru is not only preferred by devotees particularly during the auspicious Karthika Masam, but also an indologists delight having rare stone inscriptions in its premises. Ksheera Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple
Ksheerarama is one, of the five, Pancharama Kshetras and is located in Palakollu, state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Lord Shiva is known locally as Ksheera Ramalingeswara Swamy. The Sivalinga was established by Lord Vishnu. It is believed that staying one day in Kshirarama is equivalent to staying one year in Varanasi. It is one of the centrally protected monumemts of national importance.[2]
It is one of the five powerful Shiva temples in Southern India that form the Pancharama Kshetram. The remaining four are: Somarama Temple in Bhimavaram; Draksharama Temple in Draksharamam; Kumararama Temple in Samalkota; and Amararama Temple in Amaravati, state of Andhra Pradesh.

The name come to this district West godavari(in telugu pachima godavari) is godavari river flows in the coastal region which separates into two.The west side of the godavari river is called west godavari and east side of the district is east godavari.

History:
Eluru was a part of the Buddhist kingdom of Vengi. The Eastern Chalukyas ruled coastal Andhra from 700 to 1200, with Vengi, near Pedavegi village, as their capital. Historical evidences are found at the villages, Pedavegi and Guntupalli (Jilakarragudem). Eluru then became a part of the Kalinga Empire until 1471. Later it fell into the hands of the Gajapathis. In 1515 Sri Krishna Deva Raya captured it.
After the fall of the Vijayanagara Kingdom, it was taken by the Sultan of Golkonda, Kutub Shah. In 1925, West Godavari District was formed with Eluru as its headquarters.
West godavari district is a 13th distirct in the state of andhra pradesh.
Geography:
Boundaries of the district are krishna district on the west,east godavari on the east,bay of bengal on the south and telangana on the north.
The Godavari River separates East Godavari district on east

and Tammileru River and Kolleru Lake separates it from Krishna district on the west.

Administrative divisions:
The district has five revenue divisions, namely Eluru, Jangareddigudem, Kovvur, Kukunuru and Narasapuram. These revenue divisions are divided into 48 mandals in the district. These 48 mandals consists of 881 villages, 1 municipal corporation, 8 municipalities and 5 census towns. Eluru is the only municipal corporation, 7 municipalities include, Kovvur, Narasapuram, Nidadavolu, Palakol, Tadepalligudem, Tanuku, Bhimavaram, Jangareddigudem and the 5 census towns are Dwarakatirumala,
Ranivarapupeta, Satrampadu, Gavaravaram and Tangellamudi.

kolleru lake is a most famous drinking water lake which consists between krishna and godavari river.
this is a lake which balancing flood water of krishna and godavari rivers.

Climate:
The region has a tropical climate similar to the rest of the Coastal Andhra region. The summers (March–June) are very hot and dry while the winters are fairly pleasant. The temperatures in the
summers often rise over 50 degrees during the day. The rainy season (July–December) is often the best time for tourist visits, as fields are brilliantly green with paddy crops, rivers flowing with monsoon water, and a relatively cool climate. The region has long been home to the Indian nobles due to its climate and fertile soil, and several zamindar large mansions are scattered around the Godavari area.
