Sri Ramana Ashram Tiruvannamalai [ Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India ]
Sri Ramana Ashram, also known as Sri Ramanasramam, is the ashram which was home to modern sage and Advaita Vedanta philosopher Ramana Maharshi from 1922 until his death in 1950. It is situated at the foot of the Arunachala hill, to the west of Tiruvannamalai. As a boy of sixteen in 1896, he challenged death by a penetrating enquiry into the source of his being. Saranagati Song - Sri Ramanasramam - Tiruvannamalai
Saranagati is a well-known song on surrender composed by Manavasi Ramaswamy. It says, in brief, 'We take shelter under you and you are our sole refuge. Who else is there to whom we can turn? If you delay to come to our rescue, we can bear it no longer. So, come at once, end my misery, give me happiness!'
There is a reference to the effectiveness of this song in “Day by Day” where a devotee obtained water in the third floor by singing this song. It is a song recited by devotees who want relief from suffering.
