KERALA SUBRAMANYESWARA TEMPLE
Chemmanda, is one of the 64 ancient settlement in the state of Kerala, is situated near the town of Irinjalakuda , covered with hills of scenic beauty, swaying green fields.
This village is blessed by a cultural richness and full of agricultural wealth and harmonious settlements. Centuries ago, this blessed land used to resonate with vibrations emanating from the constant chanting of vedas and mantras by our great rishis and munis who resided here for spiritual practices.
Chemmanda , still remains in all its divine sanctity for those who seek spiritual solace and life’s intangible relevance, inspite of the years of material upheavals and cultural changes, this historical and divine abode of Sri Subramanya Swamy at Chemmanda is believed to be the Moolasthanam or original seat of Dhandayudhapaani at the famous Palani temple.
The mythological narration spreads light to these facts. After getting agitated with parents Shiva and Parvathis, Sri Murugan or Bala Subramanya left Kailash and seeing him in such a state, Dharmasasta (lord Ayyappa) of Kumaranchira brought him to the hills of Chemmanda and provided shelter, after which he was taken from Chemmanda to Palani and consecrated there (as Palani Andavanor lord of Palani).
Both Palani and Chemmanda abodes have the same duration in history and is also understood that both the Srikovils (Sanctum Sanctorum) face each other in direction. This is probably the only reason that Palani remains a favoured religious and spiritual destination for people of Kerala. The stone carvings around the sanctum belong to over ten centuries, unique and are a rare specimen of our ancient history and craftsmanship
Inside the Prakaram, also resides the upadevata, Ganapathi. On the right side of Sir Subramanya Swami temple is Umamaheswara temple facing east. Outside the main Prathishtas of the temple is the Naga Raja (SarpaKavu) and Hidumban (as Kshetrapalan) at the South East direction. Towards North East is situated the abode of Perumbally Nrisimha Swamy facing West.
The Tantra rites for these temples belong to the Nedumbully Namboothiri family of the ancient and time honored Tharananellur Mana, who received their Tantra rites from none other than lord Parasuram. The management and day to day running which was earlier under Tharananellur Mana is currently undertaken by Nagarjuna charities.

The Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple is one of the Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu revered by the 12 poet saints, or Alwars located near Aranmula, a village in Pathanamthitta District, Kerala, South India. Constructed in the Kerala style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Krishna, an avatar of Vishnu, who is worshipped as Parthasarathy (Partha's charioteer). The nearest railway station to the temple is located in Chengannur, while the nearest airport is Trivandrum International Airport.
Parthasarathy is the other name of Krishna on account of his role as Arjuna's Charioteer in the Mahabharata war. It is one of the most important Krishna temples in Kerala, the others being at Guruvayur Temple, Trichambaram Temple, Tiruvarppu and Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple. It is one of the five ancient shrines in the Chengannur area of Kerala, connected with the legend of Mahabharata, where the five Pandavas are believed to have built one temple each; Thrichittatt Maha Vishnu Temple by Yudhishthira, Puliyur Mahavishnu Temple by Bheema, Aranmula by Arjuna, Thiruvanvandoor Mahavishnu Temple by Nakula and Thrikodithanam Mahavishnu Temple to Sahadeva.
The sacred jewels, called Thiruvabharanam of Ayyappan are taken in procession to Sabarimala each year from Pandalam, and Aranmula Temple is one of the stops on the way. Also, the Thanka Anki, golden attire of Ayyappa, donated by the king of Travancore, is stored here and taken to Sabarimala during the Mandala season of late December. Aranmula is also known for snake boat race held every year during Onam linked to the legends of the Mahabharata. The temple has four towers over its entrances on its outer wall. The Eastern tower is accessed through a flight of 18 steps and the Northern tower entrance flight through 57 steps leads to the Pampa River. It is believed that Dushasana is the guardian of the eastern Gopuram of the temple. The temples has paintings on its walls dating back to early 18 century.
The temple is open from 4 am to 11:00 am and 5 pm to 8 pm and is administered by Travancore Devaswom Board of the Government of Kerala.
