When my love to Christ grows weak - St Peter and St Paul Church, Albury, Guildford (Compton organ)
My second video of me playing the magnificent Compton pipe organ at St Peter and St Paul Church in Albury, Surrey.
I am only an amateur and by no means a pro so wanted to point this out and hope you are still able to get the jist of the amazing skills of the John Compton Organ Company Ltd.
In complete contrast to my first video, I am playing the hymn 'When my love to Christ grows weak' to the tune 'Song 13' which makes use of the solo reed stops such as the Hautboy and Clarinet, the strings and building up to a full crescendo at the end.
Many thanks to the church wardens for allowing me access to this magnificent Compton organ.

St Mary's Easebourne - Church of England - Graveyard - Kirkjugarður
Kirkjugarður - St Mary's Easebourne Graveyard - Church of England - Midhurst, West Sussex, GU29 OAH - Gömul kirkja í þorpinu Easebourne í Suður Englandi í West Sussex. Sveitakirkja þar sem Billie Piper giftist Laurence Fox. Wedding Church of Billie Piper and Laurence Fox. A beautiful church in lovely setting on the Cowdray Park Estate. Easebourne village, is a half a mile from the bridge over River Rother on the cross-roads located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, on the outskirts of Midhurst West Sussex England - surrounded by some of the finest British countryside. Easebourne pronounced Ezborn, is a village and civil parish in the Chichester District of West Sussex, England. The village contains several old houses but they have all been more or less reconditioned or in some cases rebuilt by the Cowdray Estates. Many of the buildings in the area around Easebourne and Midhurst have these distinctive yellow window frames, which signify that the buildings belong to the local Cowdray Estate.
St Mary’s Easebourne sits at the heart of the South Downs National Park. Set in stunning countryside and within the historic village of Easebourne, the church places itself at the heart of community life. See more:
The church of ST. MARY, formerly also the conventual church of the priory, stands at the gate of Cowdray Park on the east side of the village; the tower is of rubble, the modern exterior work of hammer-dressed ashlar, the dressings are of freestone, and the roofs tiled. To a nave and chancel of the 11th century there was added in the 12th a narrow north aisle and tower. In the 13th, on the establishment of the priory, the chancel was rebuilt, the east part of the nave was enclosed by walls to form the nuns' choir, and the north aisle was widened to its present dimensions for parish use. After the Suppression in the 16th century, the roofs of the nuns' choir and chancel were removed; that of the latter was replaced in 1830 to form a tombhouse, that of the former in 1876, when its former dividing walls were removed and the present chancel and organ chamber were added. he Montague tomb-house (modern except the south wall, which is part of the priory building) has in its east wall a doorway and a three-light window in late-13th-century style; on the west it opens into the former nuns' choir by an arch of two orders, the inner moulded, resting on semi-octagonal responds with moulded caps and bases in a rather nondescript Gothic style. The marble and alabaster monument of Anthony, Viscount Montague (died 1592) and his two wives occupies the east end of this building, whither it was removed from Midhurst (and its structure considerably altered) in 1851. It is in two stages; the eastern, the higher, has three semicircular arches supporting a slab on which, before a cubical block bearing his epitaph, kneels the effigy of the viscount, bareheaded, bearded, and wearing a ruff and the mantle and collar of the Order of the Garter over armour of the tasset period. On the lower stage, west of this, rest the effigies of his two wives, Jane Ratcliffe and Margaret Dacre, in mantles and kirtles; on the front of this stage, which is in the form of a chest tomb, are their epitaphs; at each end are small kneeling effigies of their descendants, some headless. On the outside of the south wall of the former nuns' choir and nave (the distinction between them has been obliterated) is a Mass dial; west of it are a modern three-light window in 14th-century style and the remains of the original south doorway, now blocked but showing part of a semicircular arch; immediately west of this is the present south doorway, of the 13th century, formerly the nuns' entrance to their choir, having a pointed arch on plain jambs; next are a lancet window in 13th-century style and a three-light window with Perpendicular tracery, both modern.
That the original church of Easebourne was a pre Conquest 'hundredal' church, like that of Singleton, is probable from its having attached to it in 1291, and as late as 1535, the chapels of Midhurst, Fernhurst, Lodsworth, and Todham. The earliest reference to it is in a deed of c. 1105, by which Savaric fitz Cane and Muriel his wife gave the church of 'Isenburne' to the Norman Abbey of Séez. If this grant was effective the church must have been recovered by one of Savaric's successors, as in the 13th century the founder of Easebourne Priory (probably Sir John de Bohun) gave the church to the nuns, by whom it was held in 1291. There are four bells; one by Roger Landen (c. 1450) inscribed Te Deum Laudamus; one of the 16th century—sancta anna ora pro nobis; and two by William Eldridge, 1677. See more:

Another of me playing the magnificent Compton pipe organ at St Peter and St Paul Church in Albury, Surrey.

Being in Surrey I just had to play 'The Surrey with the fringe on top' by Rodgers and Hammerstein from the musical 'Oklahoma!'. Comptons did built cinema organs of course. I had planned to play this in 'straight' mode. However, when I put down the tremulants I was amazed at how close this organ sounded to one of its cinema organ counterparts.
Many thanks to the church wardens for allowing me access to this wonderful Compton organ.
NOTE: this is purely my interest in order to make sure that these fine organs are archived forever and I do not make any monetary profit by this video being on youtube.

Presence (Percy Whitlock) - First Church of Christ Scientist, Bournemouth (Compton organ)
Another of me playing the magnificent 3 manual Compton organ installed at First Church of Christ Scientist in Bournemouth.
I am only an amateur and by no means a pro so wanted to point this out and hope you are still able to get the jist of the amazing skills of the John Compton Organ Company Ltd.
Percy Whitlock, a name synonymous with Bournemouth, was a composer of beautiful post-romantic organ works. He was also the Bournemouth borough organist and appeared regularly at the nearby Pavilion Theatre playing the magnificent 4 manual Compton which is still there and played regularly for concerts. Whitlock also composed several hymn tunes including this one 'Presence' which is the tune used for the hymn 'O gentle presence, peace and joy and power'. I am playing this from the Christian Science hymnal and is an ideal hymn for demonstrating the quiet sounds on the organ as well as the beautiful Clarinet.
Sadly the church building is currently up for sale and the future of the organ remains uncertain.
Many thanks to the church officials for allowing me access to this magnificent Compton organ.

Im playing the hymn 'Thy kingdom come, O God' to the tune 'St Cecilia'. St Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians so I dedicate this to my favourite organ builder - Mr John Haywood Compton!

Come, O thou Traveller unknown - All Saint's Church, Dagnall, Dunstable (Compton organ)
Another of me playing the wonderful Compton electrone organ model 357 at All Saint's Anglican and Methodist Joint Church in the village of Dagnall near Dunstable, Buckinghamshire.
I am only an amateur and by no means a pro so wanted to point this out and hope you are still able to get the jist of the amazing skills of the John Compton Organ Company Ltd.
For this video im playing the lovely hymn 'Come, O thou Traveller unknown' to the tune 'Wrestling Jacob' and using some classic Compton electrone tone colours. The rotofon speaker can be heard to maximum effect throughout.
Regardless of what people may think of Compton electronic organs, they were considered 'cutting edge' technology in their day and as such are an important part of organ building history and so therefore every opportunity should be made to preserve them where possible. Over the years it has sickened me to see people willingly break them up or ripping out the original mechanics for 'Hauptwerk' or other digital circuitry - in short destroying history. It is so good to see churches like All Saint's keeping them in prestine condition and the fact that instruments like this are still fully functioning at almost 50 years of age is testiment to Comptons'.
Many thanks to Dorothy Green and John Ralphs for allowing me access to this superb Compton organ.

The organ was built sometime during the 1950s by the famous John Compton Organ Company Ltd, is the Series 4 model and like most Compton's it uses the extension principal. However, what makes this organ different is that it uses a Harmonic Flute as opposed to a more standard Hohl Flute. The other ranks are: Open Diapason, Salicional and Trumpet. Originally the console was situated in front of the chamber but at some point during the early 1980s it was moved to its present location on the opposite side of the chancel. The specification remains original and reads:

An average 8, sound better inside than out. Tenor's rope often hits a plastic emergency light fitting on the way up. Apart from the tenor, all the ropes fall very close to the wall, the 2 in particular has quite a cramped ringing position. Tenor rung from underneath an arch which is the OPEN doorway to the church/ringing room!! Apologies for my stray finger at the beginning!!

The Exclusive Brethren
They are a subset of the Christian evangelical movement generally described as the Plymouth Brethren. They are distinguished from the Open Brethren from whom they separated in 1848.
They are now divided into a number of groups, most of which differ on minor points of doctrine or practice. Perhaps the best-known of these, mainly through media attention, is the Raven-Taylor-Hales group, now known as the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, which maintains the doctrine of uncompromising separation based on their interpretation of 2 Corinthians 6 and 2 Timothy 2, believing that attendance at the Communion Service, the 'Lord's Supper', governs and strictly limits their relationship with others, even other Brethren groups. These brethren have one fellowship in some nineteen countries — including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, and Argentina, but they are more numerous in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and North America where they are referred to just as the Exclusive Brethren or Brethren.
