St. Editha's Church & Ankerside Monument in Tamworth
I bought a new Nikon Camera some weeks ago & it has taken me quite a time to get to grips with the New Technology, as I have used a little Sony Cyber-shot Camera for years & years!
All the settings for YouTube uploading are different & as I am pretty Long in the Tooth being exactly ONE YEAR younger than Sir Cliff Richard, it has taken me seemingly ages to get to grips with uploading from this Nikon & a major, costly, re-Programming of my Old Computer!
I captured this video on a gorgeous Bright & Breezy Wednesday Morning, 21st. September 2011, in deepest Tamworth in Staffordshire.
St. Editha's is one of the largest, oldest churches in The Mdlands of Olde Englande, dating back 1,200 years to Saxon times. (Almost as Old as Me, LOL)
I live in a tiny place out in the Middle of Nowhere right by The River Anker, so The Ankerside Monument in Tamworth has a special affection from me.
Uploading Videos from my Nikon Camera, via a Memory Card Reader takes ~ 3 times longer than a similar length video from my Sony Camera, the Audioswapping seems to take for ever, so as technology goes I count that as going backwards, but you tell me if the End Result is worth it!
I audioswapped for an Armando Trovaioli piece titled Two Happy People
Tamworth - British Towns VIDEO TOUR (Staffordshire, UK)
Visiting Tamworth for the day! I don't remember ever coming here before, so we decided to check out the town centre, and of course, Tamworth Castle!
Tamworth is a large market town and borough in Staffordshire, England, 14 miles (23 km) north-east of Birmingham and 103 miles (166 km) north-west of London. In 2015, it had a population of 77,157.Tamworth is the home of the historic Tamworth Castle, Church of St Editha and Moat House and was the capital of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Mercia.
The town's main industries include logistics, engineering, clothing, brick, tile and paper manufacture. Until 2001 it was also home to the Reliant car company, which produced the Reliant Robin three-wheeler and the Reliant Scimitar sports car. Tamworth Castle and St Editha's Church 15.12.2013
Early morning scenes from Tamworth featuring Tamworth Castle and St Editha's Church. Filmed on the 15th December 2013.
Tamworth Castle is a Norman Castle located next to the River Tame. The first castle at Tamworth was built in 913 by Ethelfleda, Lady of the Mercians. The castle seen today was constructed in its place by the Norman invaders around 1070. It dates primarily from the 11th and 12th century and was constructed in the typical Norman motte and bailey fashion. The castle is now a Grade I listed building. The views in this video show the castle from the west and also close up views of the entrance on Holloway street.
The last scene of this video is of St Editha's Church with Sunday bell ringing taking place. The church of St. Editha is the largest medieval parish church in Staffordshire. Most of the church is mid- to late-14th-century and 15th-century work with some 19th-century additions. The church is now listed as a Grade I listed building.
In Memoriam - St. Editha's Church Tamworth
Description
I captured this video, some time ago & dithered about uploading it, as interest in my videos of late, has been pretty slow! However, even some of my videos, that I consider to be quite wonderful, such as those in Paddy's Wigwam in Liverpool & fine footage from THE CAVERN, the real place where the Beatles headlined all those years ago, have also been slow on the uptake. So, for maybe just my own pleasure, I am uploading this video from my Hometown.
St. Editha's Church viewed from Tamworth Castle
Monday 20th. January 2014 was a pleasant day, so I enjoyed walking right up to Tamworth Castle & capturing this video to share my enjoyment. I was delighted to find a lovely piece of Music titled Getting There by Silent Partner to accompany my video, so many THANKS for that.
Tamworth's New Mayor at St. Editha's Church
On Sunday Morning, 15th. June 2014, I stumbled upon a formal ceremony taking place outside St. Editha's Church in Tamworth & captured a short video to share my experience with you. Apparently, it was the first visit of the new Mayor to this fine church. The music accompanying this video is titled Summer Song by Musicshake so thanks for that.
We Love Tamworth 2013 Hallelujah to St. Editha's Church
Before Daybreak on 23rd August 2013 I drove to the vicinity of St. Editha's Church in the centre of Tamworth & captured this video that I would like to share with you.
Leonard Cohen's wonderful song Hallelujah is performed by Richard & Adam from their fine album The Impossible Dream.
Around Britain on a Mobility Scooter visits Tamworth
Whenever, I go to Tamworth there is usually something worth getting my camera out for. On Thursday 14th. September 2017, I came across a guy riding Around Britain on a Mobility Scooter outside of St. Editha's Church. I captured this video as he set off for Lichfield & as he had never visited there, I advised he was in for a good time in that lovely City, where I captured my next video! (LOL) I chose a piece of music titled Banjo Hop by Audionautix to accompany this video, so thanks for that.

The End of the Road - St. Editha's Tamworth
Description
Waiting for the Library to open on Thursday Morning, 9th. October 2014, my eyes were caught by Sunshine streaming between Headstones over graves in the environs of St. Editha's Church, right in the centre of Tamworth. Coupled with the Autumn leaves blown from trees during this week's gales & thunderstorms, I just had to capture a video to share the experience.
St. Editha's Church Tamworth from Crooked Stile
Saturday Morning 30th April 2011 started pleasantly here in The Heart of Olde Englande, with just thin wispy cloud across the Sun giving a good light for capturing a video.
Balancing awkwardly on a Crooked Wooden Stile I videoed across a field of Oilseed Rape to capture St. Editha's Church in Tamworth.
The Piano Piece is titled Occasionally by David Weston.
St. Editha's Church in Amington
On Sunday 23rd January 2011, I walked across to Amington near Tamworth for the 10.30am Service at St. Editha's, Church on the Green, for the Family Focus on Bringing Light & Thanksgiving for the birth of Sydney Onions. I captured on video, this uptempo hymn that was sung with some vigour & would now like to share it with you.
An Evenings Ghost Hunt At Tamworth Castle, UK in 2004
I recently came across this DVD I made back in 2004. It was filmed on video and some infra red (night vision) hence the poorer quality.

Darkness To Light at St. Editha's 2014
Description
Toward the end of a pretty good day, I attended the Darkness To Light Candlelit Service at St. Editha's Church in Tamworth & most of the Christmas Trees from The Festival had been taken down, you may be pleased to learn! (LOL) This video captures a procession of Choristers walking through the Congregation singing a fine Hymn The Advent of our King.
Rick Wakeman's Jerusalem played in Tamworth Church 2014
Description
I apologise for breaking my promise, but I rediscovered a favourite album by Rick Wakeman, Morning Has Broken, during the night & thought that his version of Jerusalem was the Christmas Carol & would be lovely captured in St. Editha's Church in Tamworth, amongst the lovely Christmas Trees. However, Rick is playing a different piece, that relates to England's Green & Pleasant Land, so I already captured a video, featuring my photos inside & outside beautiful churches around Lichfield & Tamworth, which doubles as my WELCOME to Rick, as I get to see him live at The Garrick Theatre in Lichfield in January 2015.
