St Matthew's Church, Northampton is a Church of England parish church in Northampton, within the Diocese of Peterborough. The church is a Grade II* listed building. It was erected in memory of brewer and MP, Pickering Phipps, beside the Kettering Road. The architect was Matthew Holding. Canon John Rowden Hussey was vicar from its consecration in 1893 to 1937. Walter Hussey, vicar from 1937 to 1955 succeeding his father, was a patron of the arts. In the north transept is a stone sculpture, Madonna and Child, by Henry Moore and in the south transept a painting of the Crucifixion by Graham Sutherland. A more recent addition is a bronze statue of St Matthew by Ian Rank-Broadley.

All Saints Church, Pytchley, Kettering, England

The beautiful All Saints Church in Pytchley is located on Isham Road, Pytchley, Kettering NN14 1EW, UK. Isham was a prominent family in Pytchley. Katherine Isham, daughter of Eusebius Isham and Ann Poulton, married Richard Paget about 1537, most likely at All Saints Church. Katherine’s father, Eusebius Isham, was buried at All Saints. The views from Isham Road looking out into the village are breathtaking. We arrived just in time for sunset to capture images of this historic location dating back to the 13th century. Richard and Katherine Isham Paget are my 12th great grandparents.

St Botolph’s in Barton Seagrave, Kettering

Located at St Botolph's Rd, Barton Seagrave, Kettering NN15 6SR, UK. I laid my hands reverently on the original Christening Font at St Botolph’s Church that was built in 1120. The Barton-Seagrave historian, Anne Pegg, told us that Thomas Paget, who was born in 1490 in Barton-Seagrave, was undoubtedly baptized in that very font over 500 years ago. St Botolph’s was the only church in the village and everyone was Catholic prior to the beginning of the reformation period in England. Thomas Paget would have walked around this beautiful churchyard as a child. The thought probably never crossed his mind that 500 years later his 13th great granddaughter would fly over a huge ocean from a land yet to be discovered in search of anything that was significant about his life and family. As I walked where he walked, my eyes filled with tears. It was truly a sacred experience.

In the same town, across the way, sits Barton Hall, which is the ancestral home of the Humphrey's family built in 1550. Anne Humphrey is the wife of Thomas Paget (1490) and they are my 13th great grandparents. The exact connection between Anne Humphrey's and Barton Hall is still being researched.

Exploring an Abandoned Hospital. (Haunted?)

In March 2014, Lucky and B-DOT explored the now abandoned St. Crispins Mental Asylum in Duston, near Northampton, England. There was also a huge utility tunnel network under the ward blocks but our cameras could not take photos due to the lighting conditions. We climbed the clock tower (Photos near to the end.) which is way above 100ft. We did this without any sort of safety equipment because were poor and stupid. I hope you enjoyed our photo collection. We shall be taking videos the next time we go.

The Church of St Peter and St Paul at Swaffham

The Church of St Peter and St Paul at Swaffham is one of the finest mediæval churches in East Anglia. It was built between the years of 1454-1465 on the remains of the previous church which had partly collapsed. The tower was added between 1507 and 1510.

The church, which is built of Barnack stone, brick and flint, is in the Perpendicular style. It has the traditional cruciform plan of chancel, nave and transepts with north and south aisles and a square tower. Its total length is 173 feet from west to east.

This footage was captured very early in 2016 whilst me and my friend Ban walked around the very erie St Crispins asylum in Northampton. We have filmed in many creepy places across the country from old prisons to churches and chapels but none gave us the sense of HORROR that St Crispins did.

Bellringing at Northampton, All Saints & Northampton, St Peter

The final two towers from the Young Bellringers Facebook Group Outing in snowy Northampton.

Part of a course of Yorkshire Major on the back 8 of the modern (2006) Taylor 10 at All Saints, an interesting church which is well known for its choirs. Sadly we only ever heard the 8, as we were one short for the 10.

Followed by a quick clip of the back 6 at St Peter Northampton before my camera died, a complete 1734 Rudhall 8. They're lovely bells but they'd be even nicer if you could hear them!! A fascinating church too which is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
