Matildas Musings - 50 mile tandem to Earthquake House and St Fillans on HebWay training ride
Watch my Relive 3D video of Matildas Musings dynamic crew having a great #tandem ride as they clocked up their first ever 50 miler on a blissful Hebridean Way training run thru Visit Crieff and Robroycountry.
My crew of Colin Calder and Diane Lockhart really got the tandem going today on a fabulous route - probably due to negligible wind! - which started in our home town of Auchterarder, heading to Crieff then on to Comrie where they stopped for a fascinating visit to the Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust British Geological Survey Earthquake House (which dates back to 1874.)
After taking a hilly wrong turn, my crew retraced their steps and decided to follow the great Loch Earn Railway Path - LERP on the section from Comrie to the scenic St Fillans Village, Perthshire. for a welcome coffee and scone in the Village Store.
Re-fuelled we headed back enjoying some great views along the way.
Celebrations as Strava clocked Team Matilda at a fraction over 50 miles for the day! Great laughs too, which is what #tandeming is all about!
Tandeming and clocking up 50 miles and an elevation of 2,196 has good to be good training for our 185 mile #NuttyTandemersClub #HebWay Challenge in June - agree HebShuttle Outer Hebrides?

Driving through Crieff, Scotland on the way to Glencoe
This is a long video of our first time driving through Crieff and seeing the area. It was kind of late in the day and getting dark so the quality isnt so great. You can see the mountains tho and our commentary can be amusing at times.
