It is located at the site of the oldest college in the United Kingdom, Cor Tewdws, which was founded c. 395 AD in honour of the Roman Emperor Theodosius I. Snowy Llantwit Major - St David's Day 2018 - Beast From The East Meets Storm Emma
Some video shot around Llantwit Major in Wales at about 5pm on the 1st of March 2018, when the second band of snow started to hit. Today is St David's Day in Wales, and thoughts are usually turning to Spring. However, with the Beast From The East hitting Storm Emma, we've had a Red Weather alert and a good bit of snow. The wind was starting to get stronger and is now blowing away down the chimney. OK, I know it's not severe weather compared to many of our European neighbours, but it's unusual to get so much snow this late into Winter around these parts!
St Martin's Church, Cwmyoy, Monmouthshire, Wales
The stone 12th century church is leaning and twisting due to subsidence. Buttresses have been added to support it. Arnall Gundy and family worshipped at the church in the 1600s.
St Illtyd's Church and the New Year's Challenge - shareHISstory.net
I'm coming to you live from the sacred site of St. Illtyd's Church in Bridgend, Wales, which for over 900 years has had the sounds of Christian worship sounding in its halls and pouring down into the city below.
St. Illtyd reportedly opened up the 1st center of higher learning in Britain, and this church is dedicated to his honor. Later legends had him connected to King Arthur's court as a knight related to the famous king.
One could ask why a country such as Wales, with such a rich revival history, would need missionaries in this day and age. This video answers that question with a little walk through Biblical history, and ends with a challenge only fit for true sons and daughters.
Check out the video and let us know what you think...and don't forget to follow our missionary adventures at !

Walking KIng Arthur's Trail
There are many mysterious places in Wales but none more so than the ancient church of St Peters-super-Montem in Glamorgan. Once it was at a great political centre, close to the walls of the fabled Caer Caradoc–Castle of Caradoc, and just to the east lays a township and trading centre known as Por-tref = The Supreme Town, which today is only visible as a place name on a map and as outlines of buildings and enclosures on infra-red photographs taken from the air above. During the course of the 1990 excavations at St Peters a metal cross was found in the area where a Sixth century beehive hermitage had been erected at the east of the earlier church following the destruction of the church in the devastations of Britain by cometary debris in c AD 562.

Old Welsh Churches Llangelynnin Church
Llangelynnin Church is an old Welsh church that stands high above the Conwy Valley, North Wales. With its sister church a few miles away, Llanrhychwyn Church, it is one of Wales' oldest churches, dating from the 12th century, and was probably pre-dated by an earlier church of timber, or wattle and daub construction.

Trace the Celtic origins of the town, from St Illtud's church established 1500 years ago to Plymouth House, which once formed part of an ancient Celtic monastery.
The Church remained a powerful institution until Henry VIII's Dissolution yet echoes of its former wealth and influence can still be found, signposted by buildings such as the Gatehouse, an access point to one of the estates owned by Tewksbury Abbey.
You'll see the Town Hall, first established as a Norman Manorial Court and later re-built under the Lordship of Jasper Tudor, great uncle to King Henry the VIII, in the late 15th century but beyond grand houses and the homes left by prominent families, perhaps The Old White Hart tells us most about life through the ages.
The Old White Hart was built in the late 1400's. It is thought that it was the first domestic home to have been built after the manor of Boverton and Llantwit Major was razed during the revolt of Owain Glyndwr.
