AirWheel on the Muizenberg-St.James Walk, Cape Town, South Africa
I'm not sure if Airwheeling on the Muizenberg-St.James Walk is legal, but I'm not sure it's illegal either. The signboard says no bicycles and no skateboards, but doesn't mention Airwheels, and until it does, I'm taking the chance. The authorities may not approve, but judging from the smiles & peace signs that I got along the way, the people sure do. Viva les populaire!

Around Cape Town, South Africa. Walking from St James beach, under the St James train station, up the stairs at Ley and down the stairs at Ponder opp the Table mountain Echo valley hiking train to Kalk Bay and back to St James.

Dalebook & St James Beaches, Cape Town, An Aerial View
Weirdly, when the southeaster blows the hardest, these beaches and tidal pools seem to not have much wind. Some say it is because of the back pressure from the the mountain.
Both tidal pools are safe and clean, the beaches on the other hand can get a bit unsafe in big swell. There is a lovely walk between Kalk Bay and Muizenberg, passing these beaches.
Kalk bay is a short walk away with lots of restaurants should you feel the need to go for lunch.
Both these beaches can get very packed in the holiday season, so take the opportunity while the masses are away, during the week or shoulder seasons to get some quiet time in these lovely beaches.

Muizenberg is a beach-side suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is situated where the shore of the Cape Peninsula curves round to the east on the False Bay coast. It is considered to be the birthplace of surfing in South Africa and is currently home to a surfing community, centered on the popular 'Surfer's Corner'.
Today it is a very lively meeting location in the community of all ages centered around surfing, don't let this stop you from enjoying a walk along the beach or a stroll to St James and Kalk Bay. Lots of breakfast and lunch options here.

Clifton Beaches, Cape town
Clifton is an affluent suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is an exclusive residential area and is home to some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, with dwellings nestled on cliffs that have sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Clifton was rated as one of the Top Ten Beaches by the cable and satellite television network Discovery Travel Channel in 2003 and 2004 and has received Blue Flag status. In 2005 and 2006 it was rated by Forbes.com at number 8 in the Top 10 Topless beaches in the World. Clifton is neighbored by the suburbs of Camps Bay and Bantry Bay.
The area has a set of 4 beaches which are frequently used destinations for both locals and tourists. The beaches, which are named from 1st to 4th, are separated by falls of granite boulders and have almost pure white granitic sand. The four beaches of Clifton are one of the few areas well protected from the notorious south-easterly wind, which has a great deal to do with its popularity with bathers. A fifth beach, before First Beach, called Moses Beach (so-called because of the papyrus plants that grow along it), appears and disappears as the sand is washed in and out with the seasons. Fourth beach (to the South), is the most populated and glamorous venue;[5] attracting families. Yachts anchor off Fourth beach, especially on summer weekends. Third beach is known as a venue for gay culture. Second beach is populated by students playing beach volleyball and beach bats. First beach, to the north, the smallest beach, draws a mixed crowd of locals and surfers. Clifton Beach was noted as one of Discovery.com's best beaches by region.
Clifton's 4th beach has also been awarded the Blue Flag award in recognition of its environmental, safety and tourist standards.

For the lifeguards on the now infamous beach, sharks have become a very real and terrifying danger.
Four of them – Siyivulile Diyamane, Siphosoxolo Njiva, Sizwe Dusubana and William James – have either witnessed the nine attacks, tried to help some of the victims, which include fellow lifeguards, or assisted in the recovery of tattered remains.
