Ghost Hunt S1 E09 - St James Theatre, Wellington
Many theatres boast a ghost or two -- but this magnificent theatre in Wellington has more than its fair share. The most famous of its spirits is that of Yuri, a Russian ballet dancer who was said to have been pushed to his death from the flies, 15 metres above the stage.
A rare fun Ghost show from New Zealand that was never released on DVD and is hard to find a good copy of, most copies floating about have foreign subtitles on, these don't and are in the best quality available and I want to upload it to help keep this show alive for years to come. Enjoy!
Update: Due to Warner Music Australia recently blocking these episodes in several countries I had to mute the opening theme 'Evermore - Into the Ocean (Calling You)' to allow them to be seen worldwide again. Such a shame but better than losing the whole video.

Yuri the theatre's most famous spirit however did not make an appearance.
I worked in this theatre in 1976 and 1984 when it was a carbon-arc theatre, and i believe it is haunted by many spirits, so many have died untimely deaths in the building.
Although i was never approached by any spirits, many of my co-workers were, one doorman (Bob) had the experience of loud banging 3 times when he went to turn the house lights off after a 2pm session, after turning the lights back on 3 times to check on the banging noise source, he told me he threw the switch and got out.
It was a nightmare to bed-down (lock-up) at night, there is just no way you could check the whole building, i just used to through the mains power and auditorium lights though the Gents bathroom in the stalls down a small staircase and get out.
The other switchboard (stage left) was left on because no one liked going back there by themselves when the building was vacant.
Plus water pumps ran 24/7 under stage to keep the seawater low and the water rats out.
It was scary how the building would creak and grown in the dark.
An interesting fact that is not widely known , a fellow projectionist (Jim O' H) told me in the 70's A Taste Of Honey by Herb Albert was played on the 'massive' 12 watt mono amplifier via ceramic turntable (of course) before the film, as was the custom.
One spirit took exception to this by banging seats up and down in the grand circle, it was never played again.
Possibly the war protester who committed suicide by jumping from the grand circle ?.
Further research makes me think it would be the 'The Wailing Woman' who cut her wrists in what was the dressing rooms on the mezzanine floor after been booed off stage.
It is disputed whether she harmed herself off-site, but i was told it happened on site after she came off stage, alcohol was a factor.
Any how it seems 'A Taste Of Honey dates back to a tragic U.K.stage play drama in 1958 before Herb Albert covered it.
Or maybe it was Uri who was rumored to be pushed off the high wire live on stage by Pasher (his two timing lover).
Who knows but it makes a great story.
