St Eadburgha Church, Broadway Worcestershire

Shadowlands visits the Church of St Eadburgha, in Broadway Worcestershire.
The original parish church of Broadway, the Church of St Eadburgha has been a Christian place of worship since the 12th century. The current church was built circa 1400 but there are elements that remain of the original 12th century building.
The dedication of a Christian church to Eadburgha is not common. Eadburgha was the grand-daughter of Alfred the Great. As a child Eadburgha was asked to choose between receiving jewels or her own Bible, she chose the Bible.

you taught us, Lord, to pray,
but you alone can grant us grace
to live the words we say.

2. How can your pardon reach and bless
the unforgiving heart,
that broods on wrongs and will not let
old bitterness depart?

how small the debts men owe to us
how great our debt to you!
