Bristol - The Lord Mayors Chapel or St Mark's Church
St Mark's Church [1] is an ancient church on the north-east side of College Green, Bristol, England, built c. 1230. Better known to mediaeval and Tudor historians as the Gaunt's Chapel, it has also been known within Bristol since 1722 as the Lord Mayor's Chapel. It is one of only two churches in England privately owned and used for worship by a city corporation.[2] The other is St Lawrence Jewry, London. [3] It stands opposite Bristol Cathedral, before 1542 St Augustine's Abbey, founded by a member of the Berkeley family. It was built as the chapel to the adjacent Gaunt's Hospital, now demolished, founded in 1220. Except for the west front, the church has been enclosed by later adjacent buildings, although the tower is still visible. The church contains some fine late gothic features and a collection of continental stained glass. It is designated by Historic England as a grade I listed building.
Plain Bob Doubles at St Mark, the Lord Mayor's Chapel, Bristol
Some Plain Bob Doubles at St Mark, the Lord Mayor's Chapel, Bristol, apparently the only council-owned church in the country. Fellow YT poster quwers stars on the 4!!
The church is quite hidden on the Cathedral Green, you can only make out the tower from about 200m back!! Inside, it is quite magnificent!!
Sadly, the bells don't match the church interior; are an average 6, quite loud, don't seem to be rung too often - the ropes were all dusty, never mind the ringing room!! They need to be worked somewhat, the 4th drops quite a bit, and the 5 has a VERY long rope - but if you have a knot, it may catch in the curious ledge running from the doorway behind the 4 to behind the tenor, and with no means of access to it!! Curious!! Tenor goes very nicely indeed, nice bell to turn into Bob Minor!!

Lord Mayors Chapel Advent Carols
The Lord Mayor's Chapel (St Mark's) is the only municipally-owned church in the country. It originally served the Hospital of the Gaunts, an almonry founded about 1220 by Maurice de Gaunt, a cousin of Thomas, Lord Berkeley. The hospital was surrendered at the Dissolution of the Monasteries, and in 1541 the Corporation purchased most of the lands that formerly belonged to it. In 1722 the Chapel became the official place of worship of the Mayor and Corporation, and has remained so ever since.

Bristol - St Mary Redcliffe Church
St. Mary Redcliffe is an Anglican parish church located in the Redcliffe district of Bristol, England. The church is a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads. The church building was constructed from the 12th to the 15th centuries, and it has been a place of Christian worship for over 900 years. The church is renowned for the beauty of its Gothic architecture and is classed as a Grade I listed building by Historic England.[1][2] It was famously described by Queen Elizabeth I as the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England.[3][4]
Little remains of the earliest churches on the site although a little of the fabric has been dated to the 12th century. Much of the current building dates from the late 13th and 14th centuries when it was built and decorated by wealthy merchants of the city whose tomb and monuments decorate the church. The spire fell after being struck by lightning in 1446 and was not rebuilt until 1872. Little of the original stained glass remains following damage in the English Civil War with extensive new glass being added during the Victorian era. The tower contains 15 bells designed for full-circle English-Style change ringing. Other music in the church is provided by several choirs and the Harrison & Harrison organ.

First Amendment rights vs. gay rights in America
Many called a street preacher in Columbus, Ohio, hateful when he proclaimed a message of repentance and forgiveness in Jesus Christ, the day after the US Supreme Court decision was announced legalizing same-sex marriage. But Christians still have the right to speak out in America just like everyone else! Our First Amendment rights to freedom of assembly, religion and speech still stand this Independence Day, July 4, 2015! Let's use those rights and proclaim the gospel louder than ever!
