Rodney Stoke Church of ' St Leonards ', Sept. 2011, Part 1.wmv

A cycle to Rodney Stoke to visit St Leonard's church took place on one of the good weather days ,of few recently.I cycled from WSM and passed through Bleadon, Rooksbridge, Mark and Wedmore.As I cycled across some of the Somerset Levels I was able to capture beautiful scenes including views of Nyland Mound, the Mendips , Glastonbury Tor, Crooks Peak, Brent Knoll and further out Steep Holm,all on route to Rodney Stoke.This village is steeped in ancient and Medieval history and within the church effigies can be found of a Knight and his family.Outside in the churchyard there are many family graves of the Hale family with one mentioning a member who was a victim who perished on board the Titanic in 1912 .I have taken many photos and 3 videos of this visit which all form part of my 'Somerset Churches Project' and the discovery of 'My Beautiful Somerset'. Parts 2 & 3 to follow.A very welcoming church with a greeting and unlocked so that the inside can be viewed.
