A special 200th anniversary service was held on the site of the old St Mary's Church, Birkenhead. Only the tower remains of the church which was partially demolished in the late 1970's. The church is in the site of the Oldest building in Merseyside, Birkenhead Priory. Designed by Thomas Rickman, the foundation stone was laid on this day in 1819, and opened for service in 1822.

Branthwaite Hall
Hi Here is a video of the little known Branthwaite Hall.
Branthwaite Hall with its Peel Tower was built near the village of Branthwaite and the towns of Workington / Cockermouth in the mid-15th century by the Skelton family, who acquired the surrounding manor from the Branthwaites by marriage.
The new building was constructed from rubble stone with a single tower with a parapet and a spiral-stair turret, with an adjacent hall. The hall was 60 feet long and 42 wide (18 metres by 13 metres), but was largely remodelled in 1604; the new hall is a single space, whereas it was probably originally subdivided, and additional windows were added.
Subsequent work was conducted in the 1670s to give the property a grander appearance.
The Skeltons held the hall until 1757.
The hall is currently privately owned and I wish to thank the current owners for their permission to take this video.
Hope you like it,

Bramber Castle
Bramber castle is one of the earliest Norman castles in England. A ruin now, it was once an important outpost of Norman rule in England. It was originally built in 1073 by William de Braose, the first Lord of Bramber. Its purpose was the defense of the important port city of Steyning and the River Adur, as well as the seat of the important de Braose family.

A walk around Halton castle
This is a ruined castle just above my mums house ( also the house I grew up in ) it is 900 hundred years old, and has been ruined for the last 500. Which means it has been derelict longer than the age of the USA.
