Ayr is a large town and former Royal Burgh on the west coast of Ayrshire in Scotland. It is the administrative centre of the South Ayrshire Council area and historic county town of Ayrshire. Ayr is currently the most populated settlement in Ayrshire and is the 12th most populous settlement in Scotland. The town adjoins the smaller town of Prestwick to the north, forming a single continuous urban area with the town. Ayr was established as a Royal Burgh in 1205, serving as Ayrshire's central marketplace and harbour throughout the Medieval Period and remaining a well-renowned port across the Early Modern Period. On the southern bank of the River Ayr sits the ramparts of a citadel constructed by Oliver Cromwell's men during the mid-17th century. Towards the south of the town is the birthplace of Scottish poet Robert Burns in the suburb of Alloway. Ayr has remained a popular tourist resort since the expansion of the railway in 1840 owing to the town's fine beach and its links to golfing and Robert Burns. Ayr was represented by a Conservative MP continuously for a period of 91 years – from 1906 until 1997, followed by Labour from 1997 to 2015, and the Scottish National Party from 2015 to 2017. The town forms part of the Ayr constituency in the Scottish Parliament, the first Conservative constituency seat in the Parliament, which has been represented by Conservative MSP John Scott since a by-election in 2000. In the UK Parliament, Ayr is situated within the Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock constituency which has been represented by Conservative MP Bill Grant since the 2017 general election. Ayr is one of the largest retail centres in the south of Scotland and was recognised as the second healthiest town centre in the United Kingdom by the Royal Society for Public Health in 2014. Ayr has hosted the Scottish Grand National horse-racing steeplechase annually since 1965 and the Scottish International Airshow annually since 2014. The town also accommodates the headquarters of the Ayr Advertiser and Ayrshire Post newspapers.

Yes, that's me on the 2. I did ask for the other ringers to be shown as well - I hated looking my style, although I seem to manage OK... It has improved since!!

The bells are a complete 1998 Whitechapel 6, and are very nice indeed, although the tower, (which is unusual in itself,) is quite cramped. Well worth a visit, even if you're not a ringer (I didnt get a chance to look round the church, but it looked intersesting!!)

The Aviva Womens Tour of Britain at Pulham Roundabout , spot the moronic woman who HAD to be in the village to watch the race but the road was now blocked and no one had told her , argues wih a police man or two , f’s and blinds, turns her car round to go to the village another way (the village by now were missing their village idiot, )as she travels back up the road guess what, the race arrives and she missed it, heheh, this was the best vantage point !! hope this goes viral ! — in Diss, Norfolk.

Raw footage from Weston Carnival 2009 filmed opposite Odeon cinema. The route was different this year due to sea defence work on the sea front. from this location the carnival went straight towards the Grand Pier rather then zig zagging around the town centre. This is a collection of raw footage, put togther.

Was a shame near the start a women tried to shove thru me and some people next to me in a already busy area, all standing on the wall and then shoving her phone in front of mine on seeing me record the approaching carnival then followed by trying to push me off the wall into the people below. Apart from that and me turning around and telling her to have some mannors! to which she stopped, and walked away, (probably bugging someone else going by what she did to me and the family next to me) it was a really good night.

Chipping Campden

The Hinckley District annual outing visited Chipping Campden. I start in the church, which is really quite beautiful, then move to the ringing chamber. The bells are a real mixture of dates and founders and for what they are they are quite good. Here is some Stedman Triples. They arent easy to ring well, being very oddstruck and the tower moves a fair bit.
