Drone Footage of St Marys Church Happisburgh, Norfolk, UK.
My first week with a drone and first attempt at editing, so I thought I would put it all to good use, internal and external shots edited with Final cut pro X
A Warning to the Curious St Mary's church Happisburgh, Norfolk
When visiting the coastal village of Happisburgh, back in 2007, I was immediately drawn to the village church of St Mary`s. I was sure that it was the same church featured in the 1972 BBC TV adaption of 'A Warning To The Curious', based on the M. R. James story of the same name. You can hear from my narration that I wasn't sure if it was the same church. I didn't have the internet back in those days, so I had no way of checking until I compared my grainy camera footage to the original. My apologies for the poor sound and picture quality.
Happisburgh Church - View From Tower
St Mary's Church, in Happisburgh, Norfolk (England) often have Tower Open Days, where you can climb the tower for a small fee.
The view from the tower is fantactic, well worth the climb - although it has to be said the steps are incredibly narrow so not suitable for everyone.
The tower is 110ft high above ground level, and 180ft above sea level.

The remains of Happisburgh sea defences
20 minutes away from where I live is Happisburgh, an area of the UK coastline that is always in the news for its alarming rate of erosion, with houses falling over the edge and cliffs crumbling daily. After a bit of a rubbish week, with a friend passing and my website being hacked I decided to go for a nice walk with my dog and the camera.
Shooting a variety of images on what looked like it would be a great sunset, soon fizzled out into a bland one. But the walk was lovely and getting my feet soaked was even nicer

Happisburgh Norfolk by Mavic Pro Drone
Here is a little drone flight I made last year around the area of Happisburgh (would you believe it’s pronounced “Haysborough”!) in Norfolk. As you can see from the lack of detail in the sky, it was pretty dull, cloudy and windy, but I tried to make the most of it. I would love to go back on a sunny day as I think the lighthouse is quite photogenic.
This is the first video that I have fully edited and produced on my new iPadPro. I’m still completely new with the software, but so far I’m amazed at the ability to create such a video on a tablet. Great that I can do the whole thing while sitting on the sofa with no need to sit up at the main PC :)
As ever, let me know what you think, all comments appreciated.

Happisburgh is about to appear in Channel 4's show Village of the Year
Its plucky residents have been doggedly fighting coastal erosion for years. The people’s determination in Happisburgh to carry on against the odds was one of the reasons why it was shortlisted in Channel 4’s Village of the Year TV series.
The series takes place over four weeks with villages divided into geographical areas for daily heats with Happisburgh featuring in the south-east region, which will be shown at 3pm on Monday, January 22. Each week concludes with a semi-final on the Saturday and TV star Penelope Keith will crown the winner on Saturday, February 10 on Channel 4 at 8pm. More than 400 British villages were originally long-listed by the series and Happisburgh is one of 80 villages to reach the heats.
