St Nicholas Parish Church Chislehurst Kent
St Nicholas Church Chislehurst dates to the 15th century incorporating an earlier medieval structure from Saxon times. The church was enlarged & restored in the 19th century.
The church has fine Victorian Stained Glass windows, a Norman font & a small window from Saxon times above the West Door.
My family lived in Chislehurst for many years and we would attend Sunday service at St. Nicholas.

St Botolph's Church, Chevening, Kent
Here I take a look around the parish church of St Botolph in Chevening , Kent dating back to Saxon times.. The church is one of sixty-eight churches in England dedicated to St Botolph, the patron saint of travellers along the ancient Pilgrims' Way to Canterbury.
Nestling on the slopes of the North Downes, the church is the final resting place of the Stanhope family, who resided at Chevening House close-by. The Church contains a number of memorials, plaques & emblems of the family including the white marble effigy of Lady Frederica Stanhope who died in childbirth in 1823. This monument by Sir Francis Chantry is considered one of his finest works.
The Caen stone carved reredos to the main alter is of special note. Created in 1890 it is based on Leonardo da Vinci's painting of 'The Last Supper' and was originally destined for Durham Cathedral......
