St. Patrick's Church Museum- Sydney, Nova Scotia
The Old Sydney Society owns this old church and has it as one of their historic focal points in the town of Sydney, Cape Breton Island, in Nova Scotia Canada.
The St. Patrick's Church has changed hands several times and changed church affiliations too. Much of the stones came from rubble after the destruction of the nearby Fortress of Louisbourg.
Built in 1828, it has outlasted many congregations. Expansion in the last century even disrupted the burial location of the original builder, Captain John Butler Wilson, and that location is now under the floor of the alter wing of the church. Renovations by the society have been ongoing for many years.
