SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go for a tour of this beautiful Anglican Cathedral, built in the 1870s and located right in the center of the spectacular city of Sydney in Australia. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds the world's largest natural harbour, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west.
Australia is a country and continent surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. Its major cities – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide – are coastal. Its capital, Canberra, is inland. The country is known for its Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, a vast interior desert wilderness called the Outback, and unique animal species like kangaroos and duck-billed platypuses.

St. Peter’s, The Oldest Anglican Church | Melbourne, Australia
[FILMED ON July 30, 2017] St Peter’s is the oldest Anglican Church in Melbourne which is located on the eastern hill of Melbourne. It is a beautiful prayerful place which attracts not only local visitors but also internationally. St Peter’s also one of the many National Trust historic properties in Victoria. In fact, the letters patent of Queen Victoria declaring the city status of Melbourne were read on the steps of St Peter's in 1848.
St Peter’s interior houses many fine artworks, including The ‘New Guinea Martyrs’ stained glass window from 1946, the painting of Our Lady which is a 19th century copy of a 17th Century Carlo Dolci painting, The angels woodcarvings by Ola Cohn and many more. Not to mention, look up at the Iconostasis at the head of the nave as you enter the church, a gift from St Peter’s Icon School for the 160th anniversary.

360 video: In front of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, Australia
Recently having celebrated the 125th anniversary of its consecration, the St. Paul's Cathedral is the seat of the archbishop of the Anglican church in Melbourne, as well as a beautiful gem of Gothic transitional style architecture.
The cathedral is located in the heart of Melbourne, next to its busiest square, the Federation Square, from one side, and the Flinders Street Station on the other. Getting to it by public transport is therefore quite easy.
Built out of sandstone, the church was designed by a prominent architect William Butterfield and is considered one of his greatest works. When visiting, do not miss a chance to look at its iconic tile-decorated interior.
It is forbidden to take photographs inside the church, however, capturing the exterior on camera is just fine. Also, if you really want to take a picture of the interior, you can get a permit to do so for $5.

St Michael’s Uniting Church | Melbourne, Australia
[FILMED ON July 30, 2017] St Michael’s is one of the church that is classified by the National Trust of Australia in the heart of the city. It was the focal point for Congregationalism in Victoria in 1977 and was originally called the Collins Street Independent Church. The church was designed by leading architects at the time, Joseph Reed, who also designed Wesley Church, Melbourne Town Hall, Scots Church, Royal Exhibition Building and the State Library.
The external design of the building was constructed using multi-coloured Hawthorn bricks. It is described as Lombardic style with Romanesque features. Meanwhile, the interior of the church was strongly influenced by the minister at the time, Reverend Henderson’s. It was designed in accordance with the principles of the Congregationalist Church, to be such that the preacher would be clearly audible and visible to all members of the congregation.

St Mary's Cathedral Sale- August 31, 2019- Diaconate Ordinations- Ordination Ceremony
Video from St Mary's Cathedral, Sale, of the Mass of Ordinations to the Diaconate for the Catholic Diocese of Sale, on August 31, 2019. This Mass was celebrated by Bishop of Sale Patrick O'Regan. Those ordained to the Diaconate are Deacons Jithin Anto, Confidence Masvosva, and Paul Zaher. Following the Ordination Mass, a lunch was held for those Deacons, and those in attendance.
This video shows the actual ceremonial part of the Ordination process, where the candidates are officially ordained as deacons. Part of this process involves the candidates lying prostrate on the floor while the bishop, priests, and parishioners recite the Litany of Saints, calling out to the communion of saints for their strength and support. They ask also that the saints intercede to God on the candidate’s behalf. This is followed by the “laying of hands”, where the bishop first places his hands on the candidate's head and recites the Prayer of Ordination. At this moment, the bishop confers the Holy Spirit upon him. Here is the pivotal and sacramental moment of Holy Orders, when gestures stop being merely symbolic, and become powerful and transformative. All priests present at the Mass will then do the same in turn.
