From Segedunum to The Side, Newcastle upon Tyne ©
This is a 5.5 mile linear walk along the start of the Hadrian's Wall Path known as Hadrian's Way. It starts at Segedunum in Wallsend and finishes on The Side on Newcastle Quayside. The track begins as a cycle path which is mainly alongside the river and becomes a broad riverside pavement beyond St Peters Basin. This well surfaced path would be suitable for bikes, pushchairs & mobility scooters. Public transport is easy from both end of the walk with buses and metros nearby. There are quite a few cafes and bars between St Peter's Basin and The Side by the Tyne Bridge.

Mayor Jamie Driscoll helps pupils open new room to help deal with life's problems
Anxiety, separation, and bereavement are some of the challenges that life throws at us.
As adults we may confide in a friend, visit our GP or seek the services of a therapist. But what if you are a child with a problem navigating your way through a maze of emotions that can make you feel scared, lonely or confused.
Now Wallsend Jubilee First School in Wallsend has come up with a novel solution – a nurture room where children as young as three can get the emotional support and care that they need.

“That They May All be One” - New Testament Images of Christian Unity
Michael J. Gorman, Raymond E. Brown Professor if Biblical Studies and Theology, St. Mary’s Seminary & University, Baltimore
April 3, 2019
ANNUAL LECTURE IN HONOR OF RICHARD J. CLIFFORD, S.J.
“That They May All be One”: New Testament Images of Christian Unity
Division seems to be the order of the day, not least in the Christian Church. This lecture examines seven images of Christian unity in the New Testament: mutual indwelling with God in love (John 17:20-23); Salt and Light (Matthew 5:13-16); A Menagerie: Profane Creatures Made Clean (Acts 10:9-16); The Broken Wall, a Holy Temple (Ephesians 2:14-22); A Cruciform Colony of Heaven (Philippians 1:27–2:4); One Body with Many Members (1 Corinthians 12); A Great Multitude from Every Nation (Revelation 7). Dr. Gorman, discusses how these images contribute to our understanding of Christian unity as a task and gift from God.

Tynemouth
Tynemouth is a town and a historic borough in Tyne & Wear, England, at the mouth of the River Tyne, between North Shields and Cullercoats. It is administered as part of the borough of North Tyneside, but until 1974 was an independent county borough, including North Shields, in its own right. It has a population of 17,056. The population of the Tynemouth ward of North Tyneside was at the 2011 Census 10,472. Its history dates back to an Iron Age settlement and its strategic position on a headland over-looking the mouth of the Tyne continued to be important through to the Second World War. Its historic buildings, dramatic views and award-winning beaches attract visitors from around the world. The heart of the town, known by residents as The village, has popular coffee-shops, pubs and restaurants. It is a prosperous area with comparatively expensive housing stock, ranging from Georgian terraces to Victorian ship-owners' houses to 1960s executive homes. It is represented at Westminster by the Labour MP Alan Campbell.

Cycling from Greece to England Vlog Day 73 - Dover to Bearsted
Cycling from Dover to Bearsted, I stuck to mainly quiet country lanes, and bridleways/cycleways. For some part of the journey, I followed the Pilgrim's Way, a reasonably challenging ride on a fully loaded touring bike!
